Focus ST Garrett PMax Turbo Upgrade Deep Dive

I have a Stratified Flash Tune on my Focus ST. If someday my stock turbo needs replacing, is it absolutely necessary for a custom tune or would it be ok with the existing tune? Or could you just do a revision since this isn’t really a “big turbo”?

@@stratifiedauto Any idea if this turbo work on the stock tune long enough to get emission monitors ready and pass smog? Definitely not trying to race around on the stock tune or run it for longer than I would have to. Just need to know if it would work. Thanks in advance!

You are looking at just over 300whp

According to edge, it’s 300whp on an otherwise stock ST (maybe just a FMIC). With FBO and E30, you’re looking at 350whp or slightly more. Watch edge’s yt video

Yep, 304/391 after tune but what done w/ just a fmic and at 5400ft above sea level. Can easily get 335/415 out of this Garrett w/ fbo

So I have the upgraded Turbosmart Wastegate actuator already for stock turbo, from what I’ve been reading I’m confused if it will work with this. (2.0L ST)

Does it come with all the necessary oem gaskets or will I need to purchase them separately?

I bought one a few months ago. I had to buy all gaskets directly from Ford.

What were the turbine measurements? You mentioned the compressor wheel sizes but not the turbine.

Does anyone know if this turbo upgrade is compliant with a cobb stage 3 93oct tune w/ intercooler and downpipe... or will it require a custom tune?
