I like the idea of looking at marriage as a journey instead of a constant quest for happiness. It is nice to hear this coming from men.😊

Great insights! The points resonates with my personal situation. I am relieved that I am not the only one who gets stressed during our family vacation. My husband‘s idea of vacation is different than mine 😊.

The problem of focus on the traditional "becoming one" is that one day, one of us is gonna die, leaving the other behind... each person must have their own identity to live on. Ultimately, The Lord is the real focus and He is at the end of it all.

Thank you for adding the humor to the “owner places”! It’s like the spoonful of sugar that helps the medicine go down! After laughing my way thru Mr. Paul’s description of he and his wife on vacation- ( because it is SO us!!) 😂 now we’re just gonna have to tackle some “owned” and listen to this podcast... together. Thank you.

Become 1, we are individuals and will always be. When we marry we support, respect, protect, honor, forgive AND LOVE each other. We put "our" marriages as a priority as 1 unit therefore we become "one".

Didn't Eve blame the enemy/serpent ("the serpent deceived me, but I ate") ? And ... Adam blamed Eve? Maybe take responsibility, listen to what The Lord tells us to do in His Word and do it? Blaming the enemy gives him too much power! Greater is HE, Our Father which art in heaven ♥. Absolutely ask the Lord ..."To see with His eyes and feel with His heart. AND it will be there in abundance."!!

This series focusing on couples are very inspiring and helpful. But I'd suggest to also include singles in the Family! Maybe interviews with singles and how they build up His family!

They have no idea what narcissists are and blindly convince people to stay in the horrible abuse, causing horrible emotional and Spiritual abuse. 😢🙏🏼😢🙏🏼😢🙏🏼 You are not healthier when you are told there is hope when there is not.

Literally NONE of this advice works, and is actually counter productive, when any type of abuse is present. Abuse in “Christian marriage” is RAMPANT and a major reason is because organizations like this will not look at the reality that many women of faith are dealing with. FOF advice puts the responsibility to FIX the marriage on the wife instead of holding the ABUSER accountable. SOMETIMES IT IS ONE OF THE SPOUSES. I took it for 32 years. Been out 3 years and just now feeling whole and at peace.
@mchristr4 жыл бұрын
I listened to the entire broadcast and didn't hear anyone in the discussion suggest that the onus for marital success rests with the wife. In fact, at 23:30, Dr. Paul stated that it's NOT his wife's responsibility to meet all of his needs. Could you be more specific? Blessings.

Professional victimhood and blame will not serve you my friend. Get back to the Bible and out of your ego
@mmp4952 жыл бұрын
You are correct. If abuse is present in the relationship the spouse, wether it be the man or woman must get out for one's safety. The focus is on how to improve an already commited and healthy relationship. Abuse is at a very unsafe and unhealthy level and needs a different approach. Wishing you further strength and peace. 🙏🙏🙏
@LadyBug317052 жыл бұрын
Yes, with abuse present this approach doesn't work. One person cannot make a relationship work by themselves. It requires 2 active participants. I believe this was addressed in the video.
