Awesome presentation! Can you play audio from a mobile phone via blueooth on a pc using pc speakers connected to the pc?
@FocusriteTV

Vocaster Two also allows two-way connection via cable or Bluetooth to a compatible phone, letting you record interviews or other audio from your phone to your computer or camera. You will need to connect speakers/headphones directly to Vocaster's outputs to hear playback from Vocaster. When in use, all audio passes through Vocaster. PC Speakers connected to your PC would utilise your computers own internal soundcard.

Here's a question: If you use this unit without a computer, how can you set the various sound field settings? When I press the magic wand button, it seems to toggle between standard and crisp. Related to this, if you connect it to a computer, can you set the set the desired sound fields and have it remain in the unit so that it works when connected directly to a camera? As you can see, I"m interested in using the Vocaster Two to bring XLR mics into my DSLR and not having to use a computer.

Hi, when Vocaster is used in standalone mode without a computer, it will default to the stored settings from the last time it was connected to Vocaster Hub. The enhance button will only work as an on/off switch and when on will default to the most recently used setting. This is true for enhance and all mixing settings as well. Please us know if this helps or if you have additional questions.

@@FocusriteTV Okay, here's an update. I connected the Vocaster Two to my iMac, did the update and then I changed input 1 to Warm and input 2 to Radio. When I disconnected and went via the 3.5mm directly to my camera, put on headphones and listened to the before/after on each of the magic want settings, if anything, the new presets (when the wand was illuminated) sounded very thin and not as good as when the wand was not illuminated. What am I doing incorrectly?

@@TheGadgetGuru Im interested in this use case as well .. do you think that being disconnected fromt eh PC is giving the device less power? .. Your almost exact use case is what I'm interested in. how has your experience been since , in standalone mode? .. Much appreciated

@@kenyontech Honestly, I've found that I don't use the enhanced (magic wand) mode and when outputting the XLR mic audio from the Vocaster Two into my DSLR using the 3.5mm Vocaster output, the audio is much richer than if I connected an XLR mic directly into Sony DSLR camera with XLR inputs. I'm happy with the ease of use and the sound quality.

Hi, I’m very interested in the Vocaster One and its price is currently drastically reduced on Thomann‘s website (45€). However, I’m actually interested in recording music with it (Chinese bamboo flute/tin whistle and my guqin which is a stringed instrument). I don’t need an instrument jack, I would just use my condenser mic, most likely in combination with my iPhone 11 Pro and Cubasis. My idea is to replace my current interface (Alesis IO2 Express) with a better one. On your website there is an article about the comparison between the Vocaster and the Scarlett series. For the Scarlett series it says that for recording there is “plenty of headroom”. It says nothing the like for the Vocaster series and now I ask myself if it is more prone to clipping/distortion than the Scarlett series - especially if I want to record flutes/whistles which are often louder than a human voice. I also have to mention that I’m not an experienced audio engineer so my question might look stupid to some people. Do you think that the Vocaster One would be a good choice for me? Thanks!

Hi, thank you for reaching out and we would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding Vocaster. The microphone preamps on Vocaster feature a very large 70dB input gain range, which is directly comparable to the 69dB gain range on the latest Scarletts. Therefore, Vocaster would have no problem capturing very loud and very quiet sound sources. As long as you don't need to connect any instrument cables to your interface, it seems Vocaster would be a good fit, but please let us know if we can answer additional questions.

Can this work independently of a PC if I usb power it ..One of the ways I'd like to use this is that I'll like to be able to take a signal from a FOH mixer into this device and adjust the gain if needed ( boost or trim ) before sending to the camera mic port to my camera while being able to monitor with headphones plugged into this device.
@FocusriteTV
@FocusriteTV Жыл бұрын
It is possible to use the Vocaster standalone, you would need to power it via USB power adapter. You would need to configure your presets while connected to a computer via Vocaster Hub, once that is done you will be able to pass audio standalone.

Just bought a Shure MV7 and have been very disappointed with its USB sound, it is far too quiet. Is the gain in this definitely enough for the MV7? Like, more than enough?
@FocusriteTV

Vocaster features a 70dB gain range that is generally enough to work with any mic. It also has an Auto Gain feature that you can use to automatically set an appropriate gain level.

Hello, I work with an iMac, Audacity and Vocaster two with 2 microphones via XLR. Unfortunately, I can't get the Vocaster to pass separate tracks to Audacity. I get 2 tracks, each containing both microphones. But I want to have every microphone in one track. Isn't this possible with Vocaster? I would be happy about a tip!

Hello. Can Vocaster help me play music from my computer and output the sound through 2 studio monitors? What connectors and cables do I need for this? Thank you!
@FocusriteTV
@FocusriteTV 7 ай бұрын
Yes, that's certainly possible. You can use the ¼’' jack outputs that are located on the rear of Vocaster, (marked Outputs R and L) to connect to active monitor speakers. The volume is controlled by the same knob used for headphones volume. Depending on what kind of connectivity options are provided on your monitors, you should find that you just need two ¼’' TRS jack cables to connect.

A red light means that your Vocaster cannot properly communicate with your computer. Please try a different cable or USB port, or connect without a USB hub if possible.

Thanks for such a great video. I am a junior college instructor and would like to use this for online classes. I would like to know, with the Vocaster Two, can the mic 2 knob be reassigned to the computer input? Or as an alternative, is it possible to connect a 2nd computer to the 2nd XLR input so that I can control the volume of background music with the mic 2 knob?
@FocusriteTV
@FocusriteTV Жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, the knobs on Vocaster cannot be reassigned and can only control one computer at a time. If you are looking to control computer volume being transmitted through Vocaster this can be done so with the loopback fader that is set in the Vocaster hub. Please let us know if this helps or if you have additional questions.

@@FocusriteTV Thanks so much!! I like to control the things that I might need to change on the fly with physical controls but maybe it's time for a change. I am currently running a Focusrite 2i2 (for 2 years) but in Zoom recordings, I usually have the lowest audio volume levels so I am looking for something that has higher volume output and this seems like it will do the job. I also like the mute button and cords in the back of the device. I can work with the loopback fader in the Vocaster hub! One more quick question, I heard there has been an update for the voice effects giving a bit more control. I can't find details anywhere. Again, thanks so much for the help!!!

Certainly sounds like Vocaster may work well for you. That's correct, our latest firmware update provided greater control over the Enhance feature, accessible within Vocaster Hub. Enhance now has an edit button that lets you modify the settings of the Compression, EQ, and Rumble Reduction for each of the four presets.

Hi,I'm planning on starting a podcast series,I'm new at this so I'm pretty inexperienced with media equipment. I bought the vocaster two already, what I need to know now is how/where do I record the audio( record myself speak) using the Vocaster two. (I hope I'm making sense). Is there an additional software I need that will record my audio through the Vocaster two
@FocusriteTV

Vocaster Two comes bundled with a selection of software options for Mac and Windows PC that you can access when you create an account on our website and register your product. That said, Vocaster isn't reliant on the use of a specific recording program and will work with most. Our interactive tutorial will guide you through the process of setting this up and explain how to start recording - customer.focusritegroup.com/en/getstarted/begin/V2

@@FocusriteTV I was thinking of using the usb c port in the back of the interface and plugging the other end of the cable into a ps5 usb port.
@FocusriteTV
@FocusriteTV 9 ай бұрын
Afraid that wouldn't have the desired effect. The PS5 wouldn't be expected to be able to detect Vocaster as an audio input device. Whilst Vocaster is a USB class compliant device and is plug-and-play with Apple products, this kind of functionality doesn't extend to PS5 due to differences in operating systems.
