I had an entry in the August contest and after hearing this quality story I have to say, you deserved to win it! I felt disgust, sympathy, and was disquieted by the both the forces outside Gormley and those within him. Also I think this was one of Mr. Cornett's best works, really just a great listening experience all the way around.

I take it back the last 10 minutes of the story are good and scary, not perfect but good, scary and gory. I like it I really do and One major complement I have to give is that ending sorta reminds or sort of reminds of Bob the butcher's ending but much much much better and I mean that as a huge compliment even if it's not a high bar to beat or seat but still it does say something about the quality of the story. IF your curious Bob the butcher is also on this channel even though it's not a story worth recommending. Don't recommend that story that's what I'm saying now bye bye for now.

the letter reading (and gormley's voice in general), irritated me....The story does a good job at making me feel like wanting to set this guys stuff on fire so far...Idk, I really dislike characters who just hate everyone...they're not as interesting as they seem to think they are
@victoriataylor55844 жыл бұрын
You don't understand the character. That's what abuse does to children. That kind of thing carries over into adulthood, making them cruel, and antisocial. He, the character doesn't hate EVERYONE, he hates POSTMEN because his dad was a postman, and he was negligent and abusive towards him, making him cruel and abusive. His parents didn't love him. Put yourself in his shoes for a moment, and understand how he feels at the moment, and if you can't, that's okay. THIS man though, doesn't have it in his heart to love, HE doesn't know love, HE has never been SHOWN love. How can you love someone, when you have NEVER been shown love.
@victoriataylor55844 жыл бұрын
The character is ONLY reliving what's been done to him. HE is the tormenter now, NOT the postman, whom he sees as his father. He sees his father in EVERY postman.

I was interested in the story despite the often florid phrasing. The idea that there are creeps like Gormley who enjoy inflicting emotional pain on others is fascinating. But that was a terrible ending. Too ambiguous and open-ended. Gormley just wanders off blindly towards town. The End. Boooo.
@Makaan8 жыл бұрын
Interesting story but could not finish listening to it. It is well narrated but like many other narrators in CTFDN, and this is just my tought: I know these are horror tales but there is no need to make your voice sound either like you were kidnapped by a pedophile during your childhood (Fenter Woods) or overdo the voice tone like Mr. Cornett does so often. Sounds like a 39 minute length belch. I mean no disrespect, I like some of the narratos in here very much but others just make me stop listening due the the way they use their voice.
