This was a fun one to narrate and produce. Kudos to Sakinah Jonas-Mawji; it's well written, dark and spooky. The nursery rhyme and score were a lot of fun to make, too. I really enjoyed this project, and the fact that it came from one of our fans makes it that much cooler to me. You guys are awesome and you're helping us be better every day.

This has got to be one of the best scary stories I've ever heard. The little song was perfect for the story and it really helped me imagine all of these little souls at the bottom of the well screaming at the top of their lungs for playmates. I feel like this story needs a prequel to explain how the whole thing got started because it seemed to me that this goes back hundreds of years and many generations.

The biggest problem with the plot holes is that they make the characters seem both idiotic and cruel. SPOILERS Really, if Edmund were just going to kill himself, he should have done it *before* he murdered his son, thus breaking the curse and, you know, being a half-decent, non-murderous father. I mean, he knows how doing the same old thing turns out, and he was even warned against it. Characters with days (weeks? months?) to desperately consider *how to save their children's lives* should be able to come to the same conclusions listeners can within the span of a half hour video, bad dreams or no. Some caffeine may have helped on that front, too. Maybe some pills. I'm just brainstorming here... END SPOILERS Also, there are so many questions I have as someone experiencing the story that never seem to occur to the characters. How did the curse start? Has anyone ever tried to break it? SPOILERS What happens if a parent offers someone other than their child to the well? END SPOILERS All in all, I think this story could have used another draft.
@flamiaminu55365 жыл бұрын
Right?? And plus, unless the woman that is narrating the story to her daughter is making it up as she goes (therefore invalidating any sense of reliability to the curse's idea), then how does she know about her father founding his father's journal, or what he heard and dreamed, and most importantly, how did she know his past? He couldn't have heard it from him, much less read it in a journal herself, as there's no mention of the guy writing one down himself. There's so many plotholes here that even if we were to patch it up with the "she's crazy" excuse, half the story would fall apart anyway.

My theory: The mother was suffering some type of illness, schizophrenia or something, and made up the Piper story. She killed her daughter for her hallucinations.

Cool story. I believe it's meaning relies on feeling, on fearing the inevitability of the curse. The questions that might arise from an examination of the plot are interesting, but unimportant. Also, that is one hell of a creepy song.

@AuralStimulations10 жыл бұрын
MichuNako9 I think the idea is that the dreams and visions were going to happen regardless of living at the property or not. The grandfather hints at it and the mother is described as having heard the call of her little brother, while we know her and her daughter don't live at the mansion. And thank you for the nice compliment!

Jesus. You read this one a little too well, haha. This one really got to me! As a side note, I figured out where the ending was likely going as it neared the final quarter of the story, but I just have to say that I can't help but love the mental image of if the mom wasn't the daughter of the man in the story, just some mom telling her daughter a story on Halloween. The kid is like "Jesus, mom! Remind me never to ask you to tell me a story again!!!" XD Also, just for clarity, I love the ending, I just got a chuckle out of that thought X3

The creepiest part of this story, is the family itself. What type of people or "parents" would do that to their children?! They're very selfish people. They damned their children to an eternity of pain and loneliness. The parents could have offered themselves to the cursed, dead, and lonely children as company. After all, the ghosts of the children only appeared to them, when they became adults. They could have moved, had the mansion and well destroyed or blessed, or both. Better yet, how about doing what the grandfather said, and telling the haunting family children, 'no'!

So my problem with this story is that no one ever thiught to just leave the house? While edmund and his family lived in the little brick house he wasn't haunted by whatever was pretending to be simon, then brian, then andrew. So leave the house, fill in the dry well, turn the grounds into a public park, and the house into a place no one sleeps. End of problem. Instead, at least 4 dead kids, and a bunch of crazy people.
