I'm guessing its best to concentrate on the why's and don't editing the current day's races than hanging out with the others who would do anything to break your confidence. I know windsurfing is a great sport, but its done everywhere.

More fantastic footage. The ups and downs (mentally and physically) of windsurfing. Tough shore break conditions there. To watch the pro's struggling is a sign of how challenging it must have been. Great effort from all of you. Shout out to Lars for the editing.

Hey Nico. Sehr beeindruckend, was ihr da abliefert bei dem Swell, den hohen Wellen beim Raus- und wieder Reingehen nach harten Rennen. Ich finde du bleibst sogar noch relativ ruhig nach dem ganzen Pech, was du hattest. Der Franzose hat dich ja sowas von abgeräumt….Kopf hoch, es kommen auch wieder bessere Tage, im Sport gibt es eben Up und Down’s. Man muss nur noch stärker wieder kommen. Wie immer ein super Video, macht bitte weiter so Lars und du, ich freue mich jedesmal, wenn ihr was hochladet.

Just take a minute and think: If all this wasn't bad luck, what happened - if it had a specific meaning or reason, what would it be? - Maybe one day you'll win spectacularly and you'll remember that Sylt '23 and the feeling of "I deserved to win" will be made by some part from those experiences.... Well done for being as positive as you were after such a difficult event. Can't see that you did anything wrong in both collisions. In sailboat racing it is now becoming accepted in some clubs and events that a sailor that causes injury or significant damage by their improper actions (they were at fault for the collision) can be scored DNE (disqualification not excludable). This means that the DSQ score remains even after discards kick in. This makes sailors more careful to avoid such collisions.

I think race organizers could do more to accommodate slalom foil racers with the shorebreak problem. You shouldn't be damaging equipment just getting in and out of the water. I don't have a solution handy, but this is kind of dumb.

Pierre was probably as shocked as you when he dropped in on you but no way could he have seen you through the reinforced panel on the sail. He dropped low and back to set himself up for the gybe so nil visibility to the windward side. A very unfortunate incident but that's racing and glad you weren't physically hurt but mentally it's hard. Brilliant performance in challenging conditions so cut yourself some slack. I still prefer fin racing but that's just the dinosaur in me.

Man kann ja echt froh sein wenn man in dem shore Brake nichts zerstört. Und dann hast du leider solch ein Pech im Race. Kopf hoch und weiter Kämpfen. Was mich interessiert, hast du für solche fälle immer Ersatz dabei oder gibt es eine Möglichkeit kurzfristig an Ersatz zu kommen? Grüße 😁🤙

In diesem Fall hatte ich tatsächlich ein Ersatz dabei. Wenn man zum Beispiel beim kommenden Worldcup in Japan ist, muss man was das Ersatzmaterial angeht evtl. Abstriche machen.

Apparently, windfoiling isn't hard enough so you also have to deal with a killer shorebreak. Just what you need when all you want to do is get back on the beach and regroup when things haven't gone well. Tough day, so thanks for still taking the time to post this great video. Some really great drone footage in this and the day 1 video. Seems to be next level compared with Fuerte. Just remember - you're doing something that hardly anyone in the world can do anywhere near your level. Top 32 out of 8 billion people ain't bad! You've had some bad luck in demanding conditions that throw a random element in. Keep your head in the game, mate. The results will come!
