Good luck Nico. Slalom at 70 becomes more and more dangerous. It looks like a protective collar, a detachable hook becomes a necessity. Could you please tell me which company produces the detachable hook?

What a day with up's and down's! Really admire your toughness to continue after the first crash and going into full risk nevertheless. Your reports are absolutely inspiring and though I haven't been windsurfing for 30 years now I actually think about returning to it. I hope you found a good Physio and wish you all the best for the next race!

Hope you can do a “How to crash” video sometime in future. I’m riding on fin and would really like to know how to crash as safely as possible. Everytime I catapult I feel like I’m gonna break my arm by keep holding on the boom while crashing. Waiting forward to next day updates! Really nice videos of the action :)

Awsum race! I love that the the max speed on the Fin is way higher than on the foil but riders still choose the foil. Must be the exit on the jibes.

Fingers crossed that the whiplash isn't too bad. Michelle knows why he is going for a protective collar. Benedetti took the idea of "no rules" quite literal when he jibes insight. Fingers crossed everybody can finish the competition in one piece. If you compare the bearings your bodies are taking to other professional sports, the money your making is a joke really.

Wow, mad respect for what you guys are doing out there! From the drone angle, it makes it look quite easy but when you are out there with huge chop and super strong gusts, I can really imagine how tough it is. Hopefully everyone can make it through the competition healthy and with the least amount of catapults. Keep it up, rooting for you, Nico! 👍And Lars, you are a machine. Ben Proffitt = Legend. He's correct. The PWA athletes are now more or less all standardized. 190cm minimum and 90/100 kg. Back in the days it took experience and skill, now together with the experience and skill you need to be built like a lumberjack if you're going to be competitive. Pity that so many of the "lumberjacks" think that making themselves stick out like sore thumbs by having ludicrous hair styles and oversized sunglasses is part of the game. Waiting for the moment one of them transitions to sailing with the women because of lack of results in the men's league and has decided that "he" is now a "she". LOL. BEFORE that happens, please - pretty please - PWA; vote that no transgender will be allowed to take part in the women's category but that 'IT' will be allowed to race/compete against any other transgender athlete AND stipulate a minimum quota for that race to be validated. Say 10 transgender windsurfers minimum taking part in THEIR own competition. OTHERWISE: Woman's windsurfing will be ruined. Amazing skill to sail at those speeds though ! Maybe a neck protector similar to F1 with those kind of speeds ? Its like hitting a wall at 70km/h ! with nothing to stop your neck from snapping forward ...

Realy crazy ....up till now I didn't x the 30 knots with the Foil...I'allways get 😰 at the high speeds down the wind with high waves...don't get too high😮....pretty sick ...I hope none get's killed. Michelle Becker wears something around his neck. maybe thats a good Idea neat the helmet

Hope you are ok for today. Maciek's pass was a bit over the top, it would have been a good pass if he hadnt knocked you into the drink. Foiling is a bit dangerous as it is without contact. They shouldnt have let that one go. 3'50 in the PWA highlights video shows it from the drone.

Wow. Amazing video. Pushing through the neck pain must have been tough! Unfair move there from Maciek! Overall I feel like the foils in PWA added a lot more risk. To be competitive you have to push so hard that you risk catapults at any point. So in the end it's a coin toss many times. I wonder if foil development can improve in a way that makes them more controllable at the highest speeds.

Wow! What a day! It just shows you that if experts like you and the others are crashing, it must be really difficult! For sure, I know all about foiling catapults having taken many myself, but not nearly at these speeds! I wonder if the fact that you're wearing a helmet had anything to do with your neck injury. I can imagine that wearing a floaty helmet might keep your head from penetrating the water to a degree and that might cause a kink in your neck on impact. Maybe a neck brace is not such a bad idea, like others were saying. Anyway, congrats on persevering in the face of adversity and coming out of it with a very decent result!

The Polish kamikaze pilot should absolutely have been disqualified for that move and yesterday he took out Mateo. So he should have been ruled out of this competition.

Calm down. He shouldn't have been disqualified thats for sure. With Nico's incident Maciek was abit non-sportsmanship like but its part the game. Not endorsing it though. With Matteos incident it was certainly a huge mistake but again he marginally got away with it because he couldn't do anything else. Unfortunately winning mentalities come with aggression
