This so gorgeous! I love the shatter effect 🥰 I’ve done this before using foil adhesive over another brand’s dip system but had issues with the gel topcoat plus foil peeling after about a week. I did do a second layer of that brand’s clear top coat though. Could that have been my issue?

Can you use the dip powder top coat instead of the gel topcoat?

We recommend using the gel top coat so that it really locks in the transfer foil, but you could certainly try it out with the dip top coat. It just might not last as long. 💕

Any smaller round acrylic brush. We prefer brushes that are crimped at the base, this makes a flatter belly while still maintaining a tapered point for precision and control. We use a generic brand from a local pro nail supply store.

If you use gel polish and cure it the dispersion layer should be tacky enough to work. I’ve had success that way. Hope this helps

I did this method many times on my clients and seem to have chipping issues. Even tried doing it with dip top coat waiting in between layers. I feel like giving up on this fool method so cool but not worth the hassle.

@@KiaraSkyNails yes the kiara sky gel top coat. I was thinking maybe after the foil step I need to go back in with base and clear coat. Then the gel top coat ? I didnt see that happen in this video but I was thinking that could be the issue.

@@auzainnadooley2038 You can definitely try that! What glue are you using for the foil? If you want to make sure it stays on longer, definitely clear cap in Dip Powder, but make sure it is roughed up so the gel adheres.
