I read somewhere (not sure where), to put the foiling plate UNDER the foiling machine after you are finished using it each time. Supposedly the heat left in the machine and the weight of the machine helps to keep the plate from warping.

Yes I have done that, but the plate is plastic and has a memory. Once it heat up it warps again.

I guess the folks at SSS didn't really think this through when they designed the die - they must not have looked at the size of the platforms. It would annoy me no end to continually have to put the die diagonally and work out how to fit my paper. Thanks for the research you do for us!!

Yes but if you don't have the large Gemini machine that doesn't help. They should have specified that on the website.

@@NancyStamps Yes, you are right, I have bought large Gemini foilpress plate, as I am using original Gemini cutting machine. But actually most of the time I am using Glimmer hotfoil machine

Thanks for the fun foiling video, Nancy! Great tips. I was wondering if you could use your hot foil scraps in the Minc if you shimmed it really well? Would the pressure from the rollers work, or is it not enough pressure to get a good result?

Yes, I prefer to use my scraps with a toner sheet. Perfect results everytime.

Nancy I was wondering if you used the new foil plates by pink fresh? I heard you can only use the glimmer foil. I bought lots of foil from creative vision when they were closing. Can I use it.

No. The CVS foil is toner foil. You need to use Hot foil from Spellbinders or Gemini.
