How neat! I have a pair of shorts that are bleach splattered from toilet bowl cleaner 😄😄 if I had known about the peroxide I'd have saved my shorts 😆😆
@MrTieDye4 жыл бұрын
wow... not sure why this comment showed up now or how I missed it 10 months ago ... but yeah the peroxide could have saved them :-)

Who would have ever thought...TOILET BOWL CLEANER! Now I have to get some black t-shirts...and the journey continues! I've done the heart and the Mandala and I'm still trying to figure out the peace sign. My first one looked like an Indian war shield. Very cool but not a peace sign. I'll get there!

LOL... yes.... I had heard of someone else trying it... it had bleach in it and it is a gel so you can apply it where you want it... just remember to neutralize... I show how in each of my Bleach Videos .... and if you tag me on FB or IG with a pic of your peace sign, I will see if I can help with it... you did find my video for it right?? kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJazapmFqpuBhbc also, just in case, here is my Discharge Playlist : kzbin.info/aero/PLMEtBqB2BzuqUum7wx4njWkcy_HI10P-o ..... I demo other products for removing color from a black cotton tee .... OUT is my new favorite and no need to neutralize it ✌🏻❤️🌈🙏🥳

Does it matter what kind of toilet bowl cleaner you use? Are any of them okay if it says it has bleach in it? That sure does make this look easy.
@MrTieDye2 жыл бұрын
I am not sure, the only one I tried was the Clorox one and mostly because it had bleach and it was a gel .... but if it has bleach in it, then it should work in a similar manner ... just be sure to neutralize when you are done... washing is not enough to stop the bleach... it needs to be neutralized or you could end up with holes later on

@@MrTieDye THANKS I was wondering this too, as I think some cleaners have different, other chemicals in them and/or different concentrations of bleach. I have a clorox spray, for example, that I don't think is very bleach-heavy. Gonna give gel a try, as well!

Have you ever tried using Elmer's glue as a barrier to prevent bleed through? It should wash right out after the dyeing process. I've never tie dyed anything but was just wondering if this would work.
@MrTieDye5 жыл бұрын
I have not used glue yet, but I have seen many other dyers use it as a resist to keep something white, or at least not as dark ... main tis I have heard is to use the blue gel and to use only cold water to rinse it out as hot water sets the glue and it has to be picked out bit by bit

Can you add baking soda ( or something else) to your dye to make it thicker ?? Trying to make lines on a shirt but they're bleeding around making the lines "blotchy" and not staying in just a thin line, so need my dye to be thicker.
@MrTieDye5 жыл бұрын
not baking soda, ... that has a low pH to it, so it will slowly activate your dyes and then they will not last very long. here is how I thicken my dyes right now .... kzbin.info/www/bejne/n57EhYuNmbN9itE ...... but I will be trying out a new way soon and may upload another video soon

@lauranicole30684 жыл бұрын
You don't use soda ash with this right? It'll probably have a really bad chemical reaction.
@MrTieDye4 жыл бұрын
nope... I just et the tee wet with plain water and spin out so it is barely damp for folding purposes
@sylviadominguez83272 жыл бұрын
Hi What way is better to bleach dye wet or dry shirts/jeans
@MrTieDye Жыл бұрын
I usually do mine slightly damp, but I do not know if that is 'Best' or not ... try both ways and see which you prefer ✌🏻

Did you get some bleach in your beard? I have been removing color all summer, and have been lucky to just get it on one pair of shorts unintentionally.
@MrTieDye5 жыл бұрын
lol, nope, that grey is natural .... and yeah you have to be careful when working with bleach.... but the best way to fix a bleach spot is to tie the shorts up and add more bleach to them and then it looks intentional

Is it possible to do a spiral and spine on a hoodie?
@MrTieDye4 жыл бұрын
that is tricky as the spiral is twisted with the hoodie laying out flat and the spine is done with the hoodie folded in half SO, if you want to create this hoodie, you would have to do each fold a nd dye job separately and wash in between ..... I would start with the spiral, I would put a plastic board inside The hoodie so I could twist up just the front of the hoodie..... then tie or band it with the board still inside and dye just the spiral part... batch it, then wash it and then fold the spine on the back of the hoodie and dye
