Very interesting find. I can see why regular automatic doors were not used (there simply isn't room for them at least without narrowing the door opening). I wonder if there is a specific reason swing doors were not used (such as a cramped space outside of the elevator on some/all floors). Have you ever come across elevators with automatic swing doors? I have seen videos of elevators in Sweden that have an automatic swing door opener that I think is activated with a button, but not sure if you have come across any where the swing doors automatically open after pressing the call button like a typical automatic door elevator. Are the doors closed or open when the elevator is idle? Are there any door reopening sensors?
