I started this same diet about 6 months ago and swear by it. Had been seeing a doctor for thyroid medication which meant blood tests every 3 months. After 3 months on this diet, my inflammation markers went from 7.5 down to 1.2, an incredible drop in inflammation! Many other health benefits followed, especially with the disappearance of joint pain. I highly recommend everyone try this.

@RationalNon-conformist

@silvamaney8897 I’m assuming they take thyroid hormone, so they likely are doing well carnivore. I take T3 and carnivore has not negatively affected my thyroid as far as I can tell, I actually feel better. It’s illogical that they say it negatively affects the thyroid because some of us feel a lot better without carbs and actually see an increase in inflammation when we add “healthy” carbs in.

The reason beef is so successful and pork/chicken isnot so much, is that the ruminents fermentation 4 stomach process removes the plant poisons as well most herbicides and pesticides sprayed on crops. Leaving a pure protein source.

Jesus Christ NO, that's NOT how it works. An animal's METABOLISM targets any kind of toxins (yes, that's the proper word NOT "poisons") which are then broken down (aka metabolized) and excreted. When eating an animal you are not coming into contact with any kind of toxic substance such as herbicides or pesticides, but NOT because a cow magically fermented them in its stomach, but because METABOLISM of which digestion is only a small part. Antibiotics are also completely broken down and excreted. As for proteins, there is no such thing as "a pure protein source". Plants also contain proteins which are no less "pure" than any contained in an animal. When animals eat plants, their bodies break down the plant proteins into amino acids, which are then reassembled into new proteins that are specific and UNIQUE to the animal's own body structure and functions. So the proteins we find in meat are not identical to the proteins in the plants the animal ate. But this difference - created by what is called biological protein synthesis - doesn't make any protein superior or "purer" than the others. What matters is their usable form. And since humans are more similar to cows than cabbages, our own biological protein synthesis is easier from meat than plants. In translation, we get more nutrients with less energy input. This is as simple as I can put it, but bear in mind it is a simplification, for more detail one needs learn at least a little biochem in order to understand these, in reality, exquisitely complex processes.

I'm not sure about that 2 week time. It took me about 3 weeks to become fat adapted. During those 3 weeks things were a bit all over the place. I reckon you might need to do a fairly strict carnivore for that long just to let everything settle down and get used to eating plenty of fat before introducing any significant carbs back into the diet. The one thing I still struggle with is getting enough fat.

This roughly reflects the pattern observed by keto researchers Dr. Stephen Phinney and Jeff Volek. They studied endurance athletes and it took them about 3 weeks to transition into stable ketosis. And an additional 3 more months to become fat adapted and able to perform their sport at pre keto levels. I imagine for those non-athletes or those with poor metabolic health it might take longer than the 3 weeks plus 3 months. 🤷🏻‍♀️

1) If the Carnivore doctor quit this diet, it can't be good long-term. "Physician Paul Saladino, formerly known as Carnivore MD, went on the More Plates More Dates podcast to talk about why he quit the diet. He described how being on the almost exclusively meaty diet for two years made his testosterone drop and caused sleep disturbances, heart palpitations, and muscle cramps." 2) All the blue zones of the world have plant-heavy diets. Not carnivore diets. Carnivore may make people feel good in the short term but it doesn't seem to fare well long-term.

@chickenlover657 23 күн бұрын
@@MW1_2_3 You're not going to become constipated from meat. Meat per se does NOT make you constipated. The dramatic change in diet does, because your body is in shock and reacts to stress with constipation. This is quite common: you can get constipated for the simple reason you moved, changed beds, experienced any kind of stress, even went on vacation. Also if you sit all day or are used to coffee, or booze or anything else moving your bowels - your body will be in shock if you take that away. So don't attribute it to meat.

the farther down this rabbit hole I go the more confused I get (I mean, ultimately, just eat beef and stay away from other things) but specifically.... stay away from chicken and pork because omega six content... this, if I understand correctly, is due to their feed (corn and soy) is this still true if these animals are being fed a no corn no soy (Im associated with a regenerative farmer and know how these pigs and chickens are raised and fed) is this also the same for eggs?. Tea... Im only just hearing this flouride content thing, looking it up, they specify BLACK tea... what about herbals? since I started in on all of this I enjoy tea's as an alternative, but all herbal teas. From my initial research it seems its simply the plant accumulating these things from the ground? *update... in regards to tea, yes, it is specific to green and black teas as the plants they use are 'hyperaccumulators' of flouride, herbal teas, being made with herbal plants are not included

I respect Dr Bright’s knowledge. She’s very insightful and from what interviews I’ve listened to she right about many things that the mainstream get wrong. But I don’t believe ketosis is right for the human body. At least not as a permanent way of living. From my experience….the high fat caused me to become insulin resistant, affected my liver, damaged my pancreas, blocked my gallbladder and reduced my kidney function. I was doing clean keto with organic foods and all the right fats no shortcuts. The inflammation that everyone resolves on carnivore is due to stopping oxalates, lectins, solanines and other plant toxins that mainly accumulate over the years. This is why carbs are considered problematic. These people were previously either on a very low dairy diet or had a severe deficiency of b6 and/or b1. Eventually carnivore and keto will damage your liver….at least. Carbs do not cause diabetes.

I have a problem chewing too. I cut my steak into very thin pieces, sometimes I will then blend it as well. Also casseroles in the slow cooker. I'm starting to like rare steak, half raw in the middle but quite a bit more tender and very tasty. Having been a vegetarian for over 30 years, I'm now enjoying exploring this new way of eating. Sometimes if it's too tough I swallow it in big chunks. Lol. My kids who I bought up vegetarian but now eat meat are amazed at my turn around. While my teeth are a lot stronger now and I have lost the few kg that I wanted to, I'm still waiting for more improvements after 3 months. An older female of 77.

What about them? Many have reversed CKD by going keto/carnivore. Meat and protein are not bad for the kidneys. See Dr Berry’s videos on kidney disease. The comments on the videos are great, too, because so many comment on improvement and reversal.

I don’t do well with fat, so I just eat raw steak without the fat-then I eat some ground beef and raw organ meat, it’s amazing. For me, I can’t have eggs or raw dairy.. I have an issue with chicken skin, I get very bloated and moody. I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis and need to take T3 to feel well, carnivore did not cure me. Once you have this disease, it’s unlikely you will be able to get off medication.. it’s different from diabetes where many do end up off medications.

Doesn’t work for everyone, particularly if you’re already on medications for certain illnesses. Hypothyroidism, heart patients on beta blockers, people on anti epileptic drugs etc etc. Certain meds and conditions can cause ketoacidosis if you eat zero carbs or fast. Be careful if you have anything like this.

Silly to say we evolved to eat in a certain way. What was being eaten on the way to this point so that the person and their descendants survived? It's amazing how seemingly intelligent people fall for nonsense theories.
