Follow Up Two Part Starly Review: What Are My Plans, Plus The Future of Wig Wearing

My skin tone is neutral to slightly warm with slight yellowish under-cast.

I recently bought a couple Paula Young wigs. Are they perfect... no but they are also not overpriced and driving me bankrupt! I bought a clearance wig for under $30.00. I have gotten more compliments on that wig than my Estetica wig that had been my daily wig! I ordered a couple more different styles to see how it goes. I got 3 wigs for $90.00. I can't keep buying $250.00 wigs that really are not that much better than Paula Young. Paula Young needs more colors but I see they are adding colors and trying to respond to their customers far better than other brands. If I can mix in Paula Young with my Estetica wigs I can make my Estetica last longer and it stretches my dollar. These days every dollar counts!

Absolutely right. Seems like these wig manufacturers are taking advantage of us in many ways. I’ve actually ordered wigs from Amazon and was satisfied with them. My dollar really needs to stretch 💵

Noriko wigs, of which I’ve had at least four, give me headaches b/c they are so tight. You made so so many great points in this video it would take too long to comment on them. I’ll just say “Ditto” thank you for speaking the truth on behalf of so many of us.

I am one who truly appreciates your honest appraisals. Almost all others are reviewing for sales, in which they can't because they they then will cause issues for the retailer or be in jeopardy with the manufacturers. So thank you for still doing this for us.

Hi, Julia! How are you these days? Good to see you here again. I keep on chugging along for whatever help I can offer. I was just approached by a sketchy wig company today and I just said "no thank you, I prefer to remain independent". Seems it's going under the name of a formerly legit company but the products are not what I'd wear myself, nor do I believe you can get what they offer at a price point under $100 so scammers just keep coming. I do prefer to remain free to say what I want. That doesn't mean I'll never guest review for a company that I would recommend to others, but I'm supremely picky.

The thing is, you can add a dark root with root powder or spray if you like a darker root. But, you can’t really get rid of a dark root very easily.

Hi Cynthia. Thanks for your honesty, and you're right that if you are representing a retailer you have to be careful of what you say about the product. I understand that, so it's always good to find reviewers like you that are totally independent. I have to say I'm a weird one that does like the roots on the grays as long as they are not too long but just at the root. But I like them without roots too and I only wear grays anymore. But definitely want the style to be youthful! Thanks for all you do!

I am new to wig wearing and customer service has been my biggest obstacle to finding “the one”. Hair loss for me came very sudden and I was not ready for the emotional loss that came with it let alone finding a brand, a style, a color and fit of a wig that I can wear with confidence. In the meantime I will keep trying them on and sending them back :(

100% It's overkill on the roots when they start putting them on all of the blond and grey wigs! I'm a natural brunette and don't care for really dark roots. It's funny you mention Estetica. The Jamison by Estetica is the one wig (I altered it) my son in law said looked the most like my hair.

I get what you mean about the attitude from the manufacturer and retailer. That rooted version you're wearing does compliment you and pretty scarf and matching lipstick. I appreciate all the reviews and realize there may be some bias from others. The plethora of reviews have helped me, but even then they don't always cover things I catch or question. Funny I watched an old review that I had just purchased that unit, and she reported a defect, but it was passed on to her from a wig group and she ended up doing the same. Hers was @ the front hairline as well. Mine is fine and from a Black Friday sale, but I've noticed I have some differing opinions than the several reviews I watched. I trust a long standing company with good customer service but don't require hair, so my actual purchases are fairly minimal.

Thanks! It is a lovely dimensional color, for sure. All reviewers have different opinions, which is why we really must show the good and the bad and let others decide for themselves. If I decide to sell something that is not constructed as well as it should be, I will make note of it in the sale ad or video because it's not worth the subterfuge just to sell a wig.

@@frontporchwigchat6260 Good ethics👍Going back to the rooted colors they really work for those with matching bio hair, but some wigs are geared towards more of a fashion look like Estetica's coffee colors. I think the Americano color, for instance is cool, but wonder if I'd feel conspicuous wearing it.

Thank you for the candid information. It seems to me in the last few years. The pricing of Wigs has gone up twice as much. Or more. Hard to watch the same reviewers because no way can I spend 100’s of $$$ on a wig. Rarely do I wear a wig even though no hair. Because can’t afford them. And the same wig bought 4 years ago. New one is not of the same quality. And cost is 3 times as much.

Funny, right after I saw your last video, I saw one where another reviewer was livid with a manufacturer who did not want her comparing their bargain brand to their higher priced brand. She also feels her purpose was to help wig wearers. She resented them not respecting her independence. So she gave a blow by blow of which bargain wigs were exactly like their higher priced sisters. And which colors matched. I have several of your wigs and I like having them because it is a much cheaper way of experimenting because I also do not return unless defective and I have never gotten a defective wigs.. I have several that didn't work out for me. I am wearing caps rather than wigs more now. Thanks for sharing. Getting colder here. Tomorrow is supposed to be real cold.

Marlene was on FIRE! And she had a right to be. I'd be just as livid as she was. I once had to stop supporting a small retailer who was becoming increasingly unhinged. She called and demanded to know why I would not promote her business any longer on my channel (the first incarnation of this channel that I removed from the platform). Of course I said pretty much what Marlene said to Henry Margu. After that, the insane character assassination began, lies and crazy fictions were told about me on social media. I sure hope Marlene does not experience that type of behavior from that brand. How entitled they sound! There are a lot of unhinged and dishonest folks in the wig biz, I have found. Also, some wonderful people, though!

What a great question! Now, if I can just figure that out, LOL...Actually, it's probably a toss-up between Jon Renau Julianne and her shorter little sister, the hand tied January. I prefer the length of January, but that Julianne is just a beauty. I have loved Belle Tress Caliente and Kona (now discontinued, sadly), judging by having owned multiple colors of each, but the hand tied caps are just so comfortable. I do prefer mono tops, a bit more affordable than hand tied...or they used to be! Those new prices, ugh! There have been many I loved for a time, but January and Julianne will probably remain my favorites. In fact, I have another hand tied January on the way this week. The length is just very manageable.

If you have a 22" circumference, I would caution against Noriko. They run very small for a big-ish head.

I've worn them in the past and they were a bit snug, but I had more hair then; now, I cut mine super short. Actually, 22" is dead-on average, but my other measurements are child size, just 12" ear to ear and hairline to nape, so I am petite-avg, overall. I did hear, though, that the newest units do not fit as small as they used to fit, the ones with the new combined hair fibers (heat friendly/non-heat friendly on same wig). Have you tried those? I wonder about them. Might need to do more research. Thanks for your comment!

I had purchased several Noriko wigs within the past 10 years...and no more! I love the styles, but holy cow they all gave me a terrible headache to the point that I could not wait to take them off!! I have an average size head, but felt like my head was in a vice! too tight! please all you wig companies out there, listen to the complaints people make on these channels!

I kept it, but for the reason I stated, being rooted when I wanted non-rooted, I have decided to sell it-in my Community Section are the details if you're interested. My husband is not much of a fan anyway, LOL. Growing up in the 50's and 60's, he's partial to longer hair.

Sorry - Belle Tress treated you very poorly and I will not buy their wigs. Please change your intro video which is saying to buy the new Belle Tress! You do not need to be embarrassed at all for being honest! Thank you for not pawning off Belle Tress construction problems on a fellow wig sister.
