I think it suits you very well - lots to keep track of, roaming to fight and help out other lanes, little jungle skirmishes and ward fights, and you are good at staying on top of stuff like that with your WC3 brain! Lore ;) Hoodwink's earliest years were spent in the idyllic expanse of green that once filled the edges of Krimwohl. But as that kingdom grew, and the needs of both her citizens and her armies became ravenous, rival ore and timber barons scratched and clawed to outpace each other in devouring the natural beauty of the border forests, gorging themselves to meet the demands of the changing land. To those living in the ancient timberlands, the choice came down to following the line of refugees into the pacified zones, falling to Krimwohl's black powder and steel while defending their homes, or fleeing further north to tempt fate in the haunted glens and groves of the misty Wood Tomo'kan. So it was in those treacherous northern mistwoods that Hoodwink came of age, dodging the horrific predators of the Tomo'kan, ingratiating herself with some of the local banditry whilst antagonizing others, and finding absolutely every which way to be underfoot whenever some interesting mischief arose--often allegedly the cause of it. But when the faintest whiff of Krimwohl's fires eventually drifted into her adopted home, Hoodwink's thoughts turned to any family and friends who might have survived the invasion--now made to eke out lives in the razed lands whose wounds scarred her very soul--and she couldn't help but approach the edges of civilization to get a glimpse of the devils that had destroyed her old life. There, she saw that the monsters from her childhood weren't monsters at all. They were just...people. Soldiers, laborers, merchants...and refugees. And the soldiers, even with their black powder and steel, were nothing compared to the dangers of the Tomo'kan--real dangers with tentacles and teeth--dangers she danced around like a twirling maple seed. Knowing she can always find safe passage in the tangles of the Tomo'kan, where most warm-blooded folk wisely fear to tread, Hoodwink now strikes out against those who dare try to further pacify the wilds, happily taking what she likes from their belongings, destroying what she has no use for, and helping guide any kindred survivors back to a life in the green once again.

One furry to rule them all. Hoodwink is a wonderful hero to deceive enemies and scout out areas. Not only you can move with E through trees to get in unpredictable places or use Decoy and hide from the enemy, but you can also search for them in the fog of war with your abilities. All of your abilities give vision. Use Q to plant a tree to check highground warding spots (if you have a sentry nearby). Use W or Boomerang to find enemies who are juking you in the trees. For that same purpose you can also use your R on juking enemies, but only when the juking pathing is predictable. Pro tip: since you get blasted back after using your R, you can use it to clutch escape. Run to the nearest highground cliff, stand next to it and turn your back to it, channel R for 0.1 sec and pop it - voila, it blasts you on the cliff. Sometimes worth it to escape a certain death.

This was an epic match, Grubby! I stopped playing dota before this hero was released, so I never played her, but you made me fall in love with her! She's an awesome pos 4! Here's another dota fact for you as a reward for the WPGG:- In WC3 DotA, you could only buy wards in 2 (2 obs / 2 sent), you couldn't buy individual wards until much later on. Additionally, each type of ward needed its own inventory space. Since backpacks weren't a thing back then, the life of a support player was incredibly hard because you only had 6 inventory slots, especially in the early game when you want to carry potions and branches. Jesus christ, Grubby went from a beginning level dotaplayer to a pro level pos4 killing enemy mids from max range in no time. His improvement and understanding of the game is so next level. Its hard to catch in words. He wards, dewards, harasses, ganks, pulls camp amd everything a pos4 needs to do without breaking a sweat. I meam, he learned this stuff like two weeks ago from dendi or ceb. And its not like he had time practicing all of that. Ceb told he like once how to pos4. Now he just does it^^ So amazing and effortless

Just FYI - Casting Q on ground to make a tree gives it one less bounce. So when you are jungling, pushing waves, or W is on cooldown you can cast it directly on a target for the extra bounce.

It's actually crazy how a good player can deal tons of damage with her, it's like clinkz but actually takes skill and is more fun in my opinion. Especially with bloothorn, you set a decoy, run up to an enemy, nut, bushwhack, bloodthorn, charging ult - boomerang, ethereal, dagon and the enemy kinda vaporizes. In real situation throw in a gleipnir because you definitely should have it for control. You could even use it first if enemy doesnt have dispell because it's easier to start with.

She became my most played hero because of the last Battle Pass, the one with the Aghanim's Continuum. I played using her just because of the Cavern Crawl and I instantly fell in love with her mechanics, because finally, a mobile support! She has a good aoe stun, her Q can be used in dewarding, mobility, a bit of evasion, a nuke with her ulti, and also a break. Before, her shard is Decoy, she spawns an illusion that has the active buff of her E and when it is destroyed, it creates a small W that snags enemies for lesser duration. She's just so fun to use. Items are kinda versatile, you can either go support or even semi-carry.

The gank that you failed early at least used brewmaster ult. If he had that 1 minute later, you wouldn't have gotten the triple kill with the team! Sometimes as a support, you can gank just to bait an ult and it's a success.

Pulling the cart is okay if you're team's strat is to lengthen the laning phase. But if you want to control the map earlier. Push the tower that's fine too. It really depends on strat or hero composition.

I love hoodwink you can auto cast her 1st skill by right clicking the acorn shot or just press alt and q to on and off auto casting a tree Also tree from her skill can be act like iron branch when you eat tango with it will have times 2 duration of tango

hey Grubby, when the Lion ran away on low health, you can Q into fog of war. The acorn bounces to nearby targets even if you don't see them in fog, not for invis units though

3:12 yeah Valve are amazing at sounds. You should check out their guidelines for silhouettes and hero colors but they strayed a bit from that with some cosmetics. But they sure know how to do sound design in their games. Since Half Life.

Heroes of Newerth has private servers open, project Kongor, HoN 2 and others. I'd say it's closest to the DotA mod, and has a lot of similarities to old DotA2 Try it out when DotA gets boring

use smoke from mid game to end to get pick offs and after you can push or do boss. DONT go at boss if enemy team is alive and even more if u dont have wards/sentry. And last but not least is a team game learn to communicate with team

What does being silenced in dota mean?

it means you can't cast spells. You can still use items, but no spells. Orchid of malevolence (item) will silence you. You can still use items. Dooms ultimate attack, (doom) will mute you. No items or spells. Hope that helps!

I wish games would design heroes like old dota/wc3 and hon still. Seems like heroes fall into already established motifs instead of having unique roles and abilities. Nearly every hero in the original set of DOTA 2 and hon had a role to play and felt unique. I know its really hard to make fresh things but hoodwink to me seems like league of legends design. He's a copy of windranger but less unique in my opinion. League had good design early on but the reworks just further watered down already simplified heroes stolen from dota. Old heroes are nerfed making their unique abilities worthless or they are reworked into overloaded and uninspired messes. So disappointing. As far as Dota is concerned I see them falling into this "league design" trap. They have already started reworking old heroes. I havent been absolutely disgusted by any of the changes YET but I'm scared of what they might do in the future. Thoughts?
