I experienced that when we start intelectualizing about the Gospel the Spirit is gone. Keep it simple and be worthy of personal revelation is always at the top of my list.

I just had a thought come (17:03 - 18:05) that we could be much like the Jews during Christ's first appearance in the flesh. They wanted a someone to free them from the bonds of the Roman occupation of Jerusalem. They wanted it so badly they completly missed the mark that what Christ was offering was spiritual liberation from evil influences, and ultimately physical freedom from death. I have often hoped the Second Coming will be in my lifetime but am I wanting it so badly - waiting for the liberation from the wickedness in the world that I am missing the mark today? Am I seting myself up to be deceived because something has been promised but the time events are unknown - so I am willing to listen to false sources as to the time of His Second Coming? I learned something valuable here, I must not be deceived. I must hold fast to truths that bring a strong foundation.

Honest question- We dont know the exact hour/day of Christs coming, but we know the season, correct? 1 Thessalonians 5 says: "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." The chapter heading specifically states: "The Saints will know the season of the Second Coming of Christ-Live the way Saints should live-Rejoice evermore-Do not despise prophesyings." Its worth mentioning too that Joseph Smith said: "Christ says no man knoweth the day or the hour when the Son of Man cometh (Matt 24:36). …Did Christ speak this as a general principle throughout all generations? Oh no, he spoke in the present tense. No man that was then living upon the footstool of God knew the day or the hour. But he did not say that there was no man throughout all generations that should not know the day or the hour. No for this would be in flat contradiction with other scripture for the prophet (Amos 3:7) says that God will do nothing but what he will reveal unto his Servants the prophets." So does the prophet who will be here for the 2nd coming know when Christ will come beforehand? Again I am honestly wondering because it would make sense that God and Christ would reveal that event to the prophet who will usher in Christ's coming. “Season “ is a deliberately vague word. I dont think it means season of the year, more like season of ones life or season of the epoch. Whether the last days last for 150 years or 350 years should not change how we regard the counsel of prophets. If God wants us to know the year, he will tell us like Samuel. Otherwise he has said “no one knows”. And trying to pick apart literal words like day and hour is missing the symbolic message that God usually wants us to take. Be deliberate and dont procrastinate the day of choosing Gods way is the message I see

@@CG-G23 Well said. I’m reminded of something my mission president said about worrying when the second coming will happen. The gist was counsel to prepare spiritually now because each new day brings every one of us one day closer to our personal “second coming” when we will meet Him. Whether we will see Him with mortal eyes as part of the group or one on one whenever that happens after we die we should be preparing as if it IS today.

Vultures were perhaps more respected in ancient Israel. Some of the synagogues had carvings of them. The Israel Museum in Jerusalem has a black basalt synagogue lintel with vultures carved on it.

There is some convincing information and evidence that the temple to be built in Jerusalem in the latter days is not on the Dome of the Rock but in the city of David and where the Gihon Springs are across from the walls of Jerusalem. In a spot that is currently vacant?? That the measurements of where we thought Herod's temple was and Antonia's fortress is not exactly as Jewish scholars think is is today. Interesting.
