But, watching Dan and Arin(and also you along with other amazing art and content creators) helps me realize how amazing they are at making art even if they are goofing around. @ns81586 жыл бұрын
It typically should be applied in a thin layer, but soaking the entire canvas evenly. I don't recall actually seeing Bob go through this process in the videos of his that I've seen, but that's probably because it takes a few extra minutes to do properly. It makes the paint easier and smoother to apply, and also stretches the paint out more, so you're also saving paint over the long-run. Also helps with blending. In general it should make everything much easier.

Just in case you don't know, oil paint can take like, 6 months to dry, so put those paintings somewhere safe! If you want to replicate a Bob Ross painting, but don't want to wait so long for the paint to dry, I would highly recommend looking into acrylic paints instead. They aren't as thick as oil, but they dry overnight and can be thinned with water or medium. They are much easier to clean up as well, and don't require a solvent. It was great watching the Grumps do some painting! I'm a painter myself, and this episode made me happy and cringe all in one! Love you guys.

"Can you imagine trying to do one of these from PBS and having no pause button..." (or something like that.) - EXACTLY! I did try setting up a canvas and the paints in advance. Then, ran a Bob Ross video from KZbin. I was rewinding and pausing so blasted much that I couldn't imagine anyone ever keeping up with him. 30 minutes, my tail! Try 2 hours and hoping it looked even remotely close. He's extremely talented and highly entertaining to watch. But, dang...I am hard pressed to try even doing another one of those professional trials. Rest in peace, Bob Ross. You gave the world such a great talent to be remembered by in nearly countless TV presentations. May they forever be preserved in KZbin.
