I always got my older child a new baby doll from the new baby that they could love on while I was nursing or changing the baby. I was recommended that by both my pediatrician and OB and it helped so much.

It’s definitely a good suggestion. I’m a kindergarten teacher and the boys love to play with the dolls. It teaches gentleness and care. It also opens up role play as “daddies” who look after the baby just as much as “mommies”

I was blessed that my children didn't seem to have sibling rivalry. I kept a stack of books that were only used when I was nursing and I would read to the older kids while the baby nursed. You will need to nap when baby girl does, but that is a great time to share some snuggles with Gideon. Keeping you all in my prayers!

I was never able to nurse my two chilldren because I never got any milk. I was so sad, not getting that bonding. The doctor told me it happens to some people and that is why some mothers donate breast milk. I had to use formula. Certainly I was able to bond with my babies, just in a different way. I think some women judged me for pulling a bottle out, but I knew they did not know I couldn't so I just took it in stride. It is so nice you have a comfy chair dedicated to that special feeding time. To me, Lazy Boy is one of the best and most comfortable chairs made. Love your family! Thank you so much for sharing. It puts such a big smile in my heart.

Love our Lazyboy! We had creme leather ones that were my parents and I gave one each to my kids for their homes. They are so comfy!

Yes they are the best. The only thing is you never feel comfortable sitting on anything else. I like leather too they are so much easier to keep clean, especially if males are using them.

If you put Gideon back rear facing, he won’t be able to reach the baby or throw things on her. He’s small enough it won’t be an issue. Plus he’ll be a little bit safer. Peace of mind for all of you.

Lovely to see you all so happy and exited, ready to meet your new little one. I pray everything will go smoothly and safely. One thing that worked for me whilst nursing was to have a drink and snack ready for me and my little boy, so that we had our food and drink at the same time as baby. I would sing nursery rhymes and tell stories from memory as that seemed easier than books for me, traditional tales like the gingerbread man etc. God bless you all from the UK
