Knitting isn’t merely a pastime for Swiss psychiatrist Dominique Kaehler Schweizer. It’s a means of creative expression. Dr. Kaehler knits everything from animals to meat to baked goods to body parts-even anatomically correct hearts. And her clever, intricate work is on display in museums. The knitting psychiatrist, known as Madame Tricot in the art world, shows us how her passions for healing and knitting are interwoven.

For some people it is knitting and for others, it might be fishing, etc. It is important to have hobby and interest in something in order to keep your head clean

When I was in a "girls home" a foster grandmother taught me to crochet. I never forgot and I still use the skill. Thank God for kind and generous people. I turned out productive and good.

I used to knit in my lunch time, my mum always thought it kept me calm. I find great satisfaction completing anything handmade, crochet, knitting, embroidery or sewing.

I believe you are my soul mate! During the CoVid Lockdown here in America, I started knitting my CoVid Corps: Women whose lives have been directly affected by the Pandemic!. They include medical works; mothers; teachers; hotel housekeepers; career women; Postal workers; Hotel Housekeepers; Musicians....the list goes on. It was SO much fun!

My nana taught me how to knit as a child and as I've gotten older I really see the benefits of it. I've got something to do with my hands so that keeps me stimulated and focused proventing me from fidgeting or god forgbid hurting myself like I used to and when I'm done I get clothes and stuffed toys out of it. I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone who can hold a pair of kneeles

Rhonda Huggins I’m a self taught crochet-knitter and I was taught knitting the other way in a school club. When I showed it to my mom she said it was too complicated and showed me what she called “the normal way”. I understand what you mean- continental is so easy and flows making knitting a much faster process which is something I was used to from how quickly crochet goes.
