LYRICS:
Baby come on get stoned get stoned
Get inside it inside it inside it inside
Get along get along get alone get alone
Heard about the week on the Dalymount seat yeah
Baby come on ‘fore the going gets gone
Heard you lied to the Major
Won’t be long
Well I wish upon a wedding for a picture in the star
When they knock for ya don’t forget who you are
Skinty Fia
Baby come on whose side are you on?
I don’t wanna see the queen
I already sing her song
While they’re snuffing out hopes and they’re blotting out suns
They claim to know the form in which genius comes
Baby come on get your high heels on
It’s the body is cold
It’s the course is run
What artless living all this soft pain thrills
What calamities usher all our brilliance to the hills!
Can you feel it?
Baby come on get stoned get stoned
Get inside it inside it inside it inside
Get along get along get alone get alone
Was it the weed or the moment that stoned ye?
Baby come on get the hourglass on
I will dart into town - no I won’t be long
If the talk’s getting cold, we’ll be chancing none
Well you know what I’m saying
Our day will come
Can you feel it?
Won’t be long

Oh Jordan, I am an ancient god, millennia old, and this, like it does for Brian, Sheila, and you (who are creations of mine btw, can't wait to have you back), takes me back to when music was music. Cause you know, things just aren't ever like they were usually, and being so old thats especially true for me, but anyway my age makes me ramble, but FDC definitely helps me remember the name of the lad who helps walk me to the bathroom each morn. Godbless Grandpa Simpson and this band.

The Fontaines have invented time travel. I am 51 years old, but when I listen to this band, I travel in my mind through a world of endless possibilities and mystery, of emotion, feeling and depth - I realise the beauty and sanctity of experience and the excitement and electric mainline that is the future - and all of a sudden, I am 22 again, and the world can be mine, forever and ever Amen. The Fontaines have invented time travel.

Absolutely agree, Brian. I am 43, and life has been a struggle, but this is the sound of infinite possibilities, where everything is life is vivid and tangible, and all that exists, the good and bad, is right before us is glorious technicolour. They have a special talent.

This album is kick arse. I'm about to be 60, & so gratified that there is such great music around. Other old wrinklies of my age who crap on about how music was good back then & isn't now need to let go of the past. Every decade of music has brilliant stuff as well as forgettable gobshite. And these kids are next level fantastic. Takes my mind off my fucked back.....LOL

@@irynasharkadiy3925 Aaww. Thanks for the compliment & the kind helpful suggestion. I actually think there's more good music today than ever before, because of social media, musicians can upload to any platform, whereas once the stranglehold of huge record companies meant playing a commercial game to get a contract & music onto radio playlists. Nasty stuff. Open mind & open ears is all you need in old age Iryna! My 20 y.o & I share music all the time,. I've given him Fontaines D.C, he's given me Tash Sultana .

Similar to a lot of others here, I'm 51, someone who loves music but found that my interest in music was focused on bands from the past. With the exception of Teenage Fanclub, Fruit Bats and Midlake, Fontaines DC have really been the only band of the recent era to give me genuine goosebumps. I've been lucky enough to see them live a few times already and I cannot wait for Vicar Street Dublin on December 1st. I've even got my 15 year old daughter into them. We saw them live together at the Iveagh Gardens earlier this year. The poetry in their lyrics, influenced by all of the great Irish poets of our past, mixed with the most incredible haunting music, for me it frames living in Dublin c 2022. Ireland is changing, progressing, evolving, and still our past haunts us. Fontaines seem to encapsulate that.

Makes me want to take a road trip and look up into the Sky thinking of Shy my best friend pit bull who passed away. I know you are watching over me. I feel so many emotions listening to this song. One breathe at a time I’m just letting life, the wind the noise of everything around me consume me. I’m obsessed
