Yeah, Kurt always got all the credit, but Dave is just as if not more talented, but also humble enough to just stay in Kurts shadow. I'm a hiphop guy at heart, but I grew up on all kinds and know MUSIC, and your statement is 100% correct, no debate imo.

My Hero is my Dad. He joined the Marines at 17yrs old during the Viet Nam War. He was an RTO(Radio, Telephone, Operator, in other words, he carried the radio on his back.). Didn't realize how short a comm guy's life expectancy was, until I joined the Army, besides Brass, the communications are the first you take out. He got out of the Marines, but went back into the Air Force as an F4 Mechanic a few years later, even wrenched on the Thunderbird's Team and served 20 more years. He gave up promotional opportunities and spent a lot of time away, so myself and my siblings could grow up and not be moved around the world like most Military Brats. I am Blessed to still have him in my life. He sacrificed a lot for my Family, and I am grateful. Agent Orange has blemished some of his health, but not his soul. Even in my 40's, he has a guiding hand.

A lot of people overlook the fact that this is a single cam video. No cuts. It just makes it more interesting in my opinion.

I will tell you my story when I first heard this song: Yes, I work for the Alhambra Fire Department. Our city always has a float in the Rose Parade every year. The theme 2 years ago was Firefighter's or Fire Department. We had four of our personnel ride on the float. It was an incredible experience. Well, they had one song playing the entire parade route for three hours, and guess what song it was? Yes, Hero! Kind of got tired of it but it is a good song. Thank you for the great reaction!!

I had an uncle who was an officer for the Department of Natural Resources who died while on duty while trying to save a man who fell through the ice on a pond while ice fishing. They both drowned. This happened on February 13, 2018, which is exactly a year ago as of now. At his funeral, an acoustic version of My Hero was played. It's such a strange coincidence that you posted this today. But yeah, I don't listen to this song much anymore. Too sad. The lyrics perfectly describe those first couple of weeks and reflection and remembrance of the man that my uncle was.

I played and sang this song at my moms 65th birthday in honor of my late dad. "There goes my hero he's ordinary". Dad was an everyday dad worked for the county road department. Taught me how to play baseball, fish, a little about cars. Kept his vows. That's my hero.

I've seen FF three times live and remember buying this CD back in 1997. The last time I saw them live was in 2017. I don't think I have seen this clip or it was so long ago I don't remember it anyway. This came out when there was smartphone or digital camera and if you asked people what would take if your house caught on fire, most people would say "photos". They can't be replaced.

Foo Fighters are one of my favorite bands, I've been listening to them since they formed. I'll put on my Foo Fighter playlist and it inspires me to clean house. Actually the next song I'm planning to request is their song Everlong, the video is hilarious!

I think he took the picture because people try to save their keepsakes from the fire. I love this because they say the hero is ordinary. Anyone can be a hero in life. Also I love the Foos because Dave is what we have from my favorite band of all time Nirvana He is one of the greatest drummers of all time He is so talented. He played every instrument on Foos debut album Love you Dave.

I heard this song for the first time within the last 2 years. I was flooded with memories of my mom, my husband and every nurse I have ever had. Six surgeries in 12 ish years. The movie you are describing is called The Other Guys. I heard it for a long time lyrically correct. "There goes my hero, he's ordinary." But then one day I heard it wrong. That's all it takes to permanently change the lyrics in my had. "There goes my hero, he's old and Harry." It's awesome.

Supposedly, the song is about Kurt Cobain...but to me, its a celebration of all the regular every day heros that nobody hears about. Forget that rapper or actor you look up too so much...you got heros around you every day that set the best example to follow! YOU can be a hero!!!

The lead singer Dave Navarro, was in a little band called Nirvana.(Kurt Cobain) I love the Foo Fighters. Dave was the drummer in Nirvana. He and the Foo Fighters drummer (drawing a blank on his name) switch places regularly. They are all family guys, take their kids to school, minivans and all. My brother was a firefighter, one of my friends from high school became a firefighter, we lost him to cancer. My best friend for 25 years, her husband is the fire chief now. It takes so much care to run into something, that every fiber in your being, tells you to run away from as fast as you can. If you don't know firefighters, remember September 11, 2001. It's called courage! Those men knew that most of them wouldn't make it out alive, but they ran inside those buildings anyhow. It's personal for me.

Robin Addis-Vaughn The story is much better when you get the name right lol. Try Dave Grohl. Dave Navarro is in Jane’s Addiction & RHCP. Taylor Hawkins is the drummer for FF.

@@sixnohitkee8281 I knew that didn't sound right! Don't drink and type! LOL! I was lazy and should've asked Alexa. Have you seen the clip of his daughter and him singing? That's why I knew it was wrong. And, I don't know how old she is maybe 10 or a bit older, but she's really good. Maybe Violet, (she's 12 so Alexa says). Thanks dude! I appreciate the correction!

@@matthewdrake4385 i stand corrected kinda. In the statement he referred to childhood friends who where everyday people he looked up to. Dave Grohl.. sweetest & coolest dude in rock still.. soooo many good from him. Their videos are inspired by his dreams he’s said. He was Nirvana’s 2nd drummer & chosen by Kurt because he slammed drums so damn hard & thats rhe sound Kurt wanted however he also co-wrote a lot with Kurt.. he started Foo’s immediately after Kurt’s death... try All My Life, the Pretender, Learning to Fly, Best of You, DOA, or Everlong, even that acoustic is amazing (& what is my song to walk down the aisle in 2020).. so many to listen to from Foo’s... he’s obviously a great musician.. and i lived 5 blocks from WTC during 9/11 & was on my roof for the first plane attack, plane flew over my head & dropped fuselage on me, they crank engines to hit the Trade as hard as possible (think WW2 movies with that engine sound) so it was played a ton after that for the firefighters & police whom were killed, true heroes! Always reminds me of that .. #neverforget #911concertattendee #NYCforever

You should check out Queens of the Stone Age, "No One Knows," "Go With the Flow," and "Burn the Witch" are some of their best songs. No One Knows was their breakout hit and Dave Grohl (frontman of Foo Fighters) is good friends with the band and even played drums for them for a while before they found a permanent drummer (he's in the music video for No One Knows).
