This song has become so meaningful to my family and me following the sudden and unexpected suicide of my 23-year-old son. The words so perfectly describe Casey. My nephew, who is an incredible musician, played and sang this song at Casey’s memorial service that was attended by hundreds of kids in their 20s. Casey’s impact was great and far-reaching. He never met a person he didn’t befriend. His purpose in life was to help others. It became too great of a burden, but I know he is still here, loving us and helping us from “home.” Thank you Dave Grohl for putting these words to song.

@johnkiedis27 The "No Way Back" video is "Title 5, Chapter 1" on the DVD, but there is no navigation to it from the title (root) menu of the DVD. The only way I know of to access the "No Way Back" video or the "Home" acoustic solo videos is to open the DVD in a program such as Windows Media Player and navigate to Title 5/ Title 4 (respectively). I can not even navigate to the "Easter Egg" bullet hole in the title menu using my standard DVD player, only using Windows Media Player.

I take 1 to mean that he wishes tomorrow were better than today, or that today is bad and he needs to worry about the present more than the future. I take 2 to mean that he doesn't fear where his heart leads him. And I think there's a "no" before "absence" but you can hear it better on the studio recorded version. If there is a "no," then I take it to mean that he lets his faith and heart lead him. If there isn't a "no," then I think it means he just lets his heart lead him instead of his faith. The last few lines are talking about how everyone he's loved, he's loved for a reason, and he doesn't regret loving them all whether family or friends or lovers or famous people. That's what I think at least, but everyone has their own interpretation of it depending on their experiences!

I think that the first one is understandable if you also take the "all I want is to be home" that comes right after; "Pray for tomorrow... but for today, all I want is to be home" He might be hoping the best of days to come, but at the time, He just wants to go where He belongs, or feels more comfortable (sorry for the grammar)... I can't really figure out the second one and make it explainable, unless you grab "no fear of my heart" as not being afraid of your emotions (sorry... again) :D. The "People I've loved" part continues to "I have no regrets, some I remember, some I forget, some of them living, some of them dead" that's obviously Dave talking about every person that He met through his life, including those who hurt him, those He had to let go, and even those who died, He might not remember all of them, but they were important to him.
