David Grohl is one of, if not, the most influential singer/songwriter of my generation... from the drummer of Nirvana to the front man of an amazing band; he will be someone my son grows up listening to. Thanks, Dave!

That's exactly how it was for me. I'm a year younger than Dave and was like every other person who heard Nirvana's music back then. It WAS different and influential and helped us express frustrations of the time in which we were living. And now....my son has been listening to Nirvana (and Foos and Pearl Jam and Black Crows, etc) for years, like it was all new. SO cool to watch him experience GOOD music. I took him to NYC to see Nirvana get inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Together, WE got to see Dave back on drums, Krist on bass, Pat on lead guitar, and kick-ass women of rock doing the honor of singing Kurt's words. He especially lost it when Kim Gordon came out and then Annie Clark (St Vincent). He got it....just like his mom got it back when Dave and I were young. Yep....thanks, Dave!

So my mom doest speak the best of English (from Spain) but she would sing this song maybe a million times and if you knew the chorus you knew what she was trying to sing. I took her to this show for her birthday. Dave and the foo fighters did that thing where they created a space in my head in which that memory will be with me for the rest of my life. Years later I can look at a picture and before I know it I’m there and smiling. Fuck these emails! I’m gonna watch the whooole set..... AGAAAAIN!!!
