Dave Grohl : “Last fall, as I was driving my daughter to school, she turned to me and asked, ‘Daddy, is there going to be a war?’ My heart sank as I realized that she was now living under the same dark cloud that I had felt 40 years ago. Every day waiting for the sky to fall. Is there more to this than that? Is there more to this than just waiting on a war? Because I need more. We all do. This song was written for my daughter, Harper, who deserves a future, just as every child does.”

@@daveydudely9954 maybe if you got your news from someone other than a late night talk show host or buzzfeed, you'd know that Trump ended the 19 year war with the Taliban and Afghanistan (the war that Biden voted for) and pulled most of our troops from the areas with the treaty stating that all troops will be withdrawn by April 2021. However, Biden still wants troops left there so he will probably mess up that deal. Trump also negotiated the denuclearization and peace treaty with North Korea. Trump has reduced the number of American soldiers overseas by more than half vs when Biden was VP and the amount of military spending also reduced by more than half under Trump vs Obama. Biden isn't even president yet and he's already stock piling his cabinets with pro war hawks that served under Obama. These are the same people that intervened in Libya, the ongoing Afghanistan war, the war in Yemen, Honduras....etc. Oh, but now that Trump is out and the person who has been in politics and actively supported war efforts and foreign military involvements since 1971 is in, we have no war to fear... 👏

That line got me too and he is talking about what is happening right now. I watch school children line up like prisoners and they go outside for gym class with masks on and wear them outside. The teacher makes sure they do not run or jump. They stand in line and systematically throw a ball one time. That's it. That is all they are allowed to do. They can not have kids running around with those masks on because they will pass out. The hospital for Sick Children even spoke out against our kids wearing mask. It gets worse for teh older kids here in Canada. They can not date. The can not hang out with each other because they must only stay within contact of their family bubble. It's been one year now in Toronto. My son can not hold his wedding. My other son can not even meet a girl or other young people his age. He must only see his own family by law. It gets worse. Our loved ones are drying alone. We are not allowed to visit people in the hospital any more. People fought this and went to the human rights commission. We were granted one visit by one person every other day and it doesn't matter if t he person has 2 days left to live only one day will a visit be allowed. We are in serious trouble and it's getting worse and it will get much worse.

Wars are constant around the globe. Perceived safety is far different than reality. This is a metaphor in some senses and there are different kinds of wars, countless conflicts people do not consider.

I think it's the orchestra and also the bass in the background that gives it that deep and meaningful feel. Notice it playing in the background, especially in the second verse, when Dave sings, just waiting on the war for this and that, there's got to be more to this and that... it's suttle but makes all the difference. These guys are masters of making beautiful music that really touches people. God bless this band.

I'm glad that my brain matured and the world didn't end. Turn off the news and put your phone down and go take a walk and talk to some random people. Now the world is turning on the foo for good reason. They’ve sold out to the gov. Kids you better learn fast. All of these bands are aligned with people, even the best bands. I had much respect for foo fighters since their debut album. I have strong principles though. Whatever it’s usually useless trying to talk sense and logic to anyone these days. Any band that’s pushing people to get vaxxed to see them is part of the agenda. It’s disgusting. Keep staying in that bubble of media brainwashing I guess if you want. It’s all bs.

Foo Fighters have such a diverse sound, they don't stick to one type of sound or guitar. They play everything from Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, single coils, humbuckers, P-90s, even acoustics, and yet everything they play is their sound. Their musical formula of adapting is their evolution and that is what keeps them relevant (plus great lyrics).
