The nettles tea does look good and it is nice that you all have such plants to use for food or drink. We have some such plants here in the United States also and I have been given pine nettle tea which my grandmother use to make for us kids for cuts and bruises.

The book that introduced me to wild edibles was "Feasting Free On Wild Edibles" by Bradford Angier. I see it listed on Amazon as being published in 2002. The one I had was a first edition that I bought in 1972. I'm going to have to buy the new one, I suspect it's hopefully been expanded since it's a 30 year newer edition.

50th day, Sarajevo 🇧🇦 There are about a dozen edible "weeds" that can be found worldwide. Nettle is one of them. 💚 Hang up some plants to air dry for a day, and the leaf can be crumbled to a powder and saved to add to soups, salads, or omelettes. (see powdered greens)

Use it in chicken soup. Make a usual soup from chicken.. You can use any cheap chicken, even frozen drumsticks from iceland. once meat is done, take it out and to cut to small pieces. Add rice and diced potatoes. Nettle needs to be washed in cold water and then dip in soup for couple minutes to make it safe, then cut. Add meat, nettle, greens, onions and carrot. And before turning of heat add a couple of eggs and stir througly. Enjoy

If you pick fresh nettle tops, wash them, boil them for 3 to 4 minutes. Strain off the liquid to drink. Add a pinch of salt and pepper and a knob of butter to the strained nettles and they make an excellent green to eat with your dinner. They taste like spinach and are very good for you. I hope you are enjoying your lockdown. I confess I am quite envious. Namaste.
