I never knock the volunteers! They're the only crops I can rely on! Where on earth do you get a thornless gooseberry? Jaws's dream come true! As for the apricot tree - I once bought one - but nothing came of it and it died. The most successful ones I have seen grown over here are grown as an espalier against a wall and because they blossom early and are susceptible to frost damage, they are often shielded from the frost by having a perspex screen in front of them! They're not reliable croppers anyway, so one year you might get a good crop and then the next, hardly any. Those lilies are stunning, Ryan. The elderberry will indeed grow very big, definitely bigger than 6 x 6 if you let it! I love it - like Marie said it offers so much - soft drinks, jellies, and not forgetting food for the birds! Great to see your natural food forest and lovely to listen to you and Marie chatting so enthusiastically, naturally and knowledgeably! A big thumbs up! All the best, Mike.

Lol, I think you have a few things other than volunteers! I got those gooseberries from a local nursery. Want me to try some cutting and send them?? I have heard they are not great croppers and every 5 years they are plentiful. I have a few things that will need shifting, but wanted to get them started up front. Any time with like minded folks is truly a great time:)))

What a lovely lady Marie is. Thank you for introducing her. Your food forest is no longer a forest but a jungle my friend. It shows how busy you've been. I really enjoyed the video and tour. However, dude, what does your shirt says? You wore it on the last food forest tour and for the life of me I couldn't read past 'gourd'. So I ask you once more, if you don't mind, what does it says? Thank you and I look forward to next video. ;-)

Wonderful to see Marie there with you, sharing your garden tour. I'd no idea Apricot would survive such a cold climate, how lovely to have those. The Lilies are spectacular, beautiful colours. Elderberry grows alongside the brambles here, in hedgerows, tough as old boots. The mulching you did has certainly helped keep the plants happy and the weeds down. Such a hearty garden and I bet the pollinators love it. Do you see many Butterflies in your region?

apricot trees are bearers of stoned fruit. ( no. they don't smoke the grass. lol ) this means any pruning is done in the summer.( usually after fruiting ) woody IS , in my books, the master of fruit trees ( and i don't say that lightly. ) the european elder can grow to fifteen feet if you don't keep it in check.. this was a good collaboration, ryan............................brian
