Your monthly expenses $1300 is not bad. At our house, for a family of four( husband and I, 17yrs old and 11yrs old), our monthly expenses just for going out to eat and buyning food at the grocery store is over $3,000. When we order the food at the restaurant, we order for 3 people. Going out to eat is about $120.00. And we eat out 3 or 4 times a week. And that's mainly on the weekends. My kids share and they don't eat alot in one meal. Inflation is cruel here in America. Wish you all the best!!!

Thanks Love007. We don't eat much out but when we do it is cheaper in comparison to OZ for the quality of what we get. This is only half the month though so far. What has made it really expensive is the fact that in April we had to pay the plumber for doing the set up of the natural gas. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience on your part of the 🌎

Hi Aleina. Macelleria and supermarket prices are very similar actually. A few months ago we tried a macelleria elsewhere that had cheaper prices but we didn't feel right when we were eating the meat from there so we didn't go back.

Wow the most realistic video I've seen on living in Italy. Thank you for sharing that. I must admit, I thought it was cheaper to live in Italy than that. I think I am behind the times! This was a really good video. I applaude you. Well done. I'm looking forward to part two. Are there no buses in your village/town? Is that why you had to drive to Campobasso to get the bus?
@rossinniandco
@rossinniandco Жыл бұрын
Hi Ponkelina. There are buses from our town to Termoli, and then from there a different bus to Campobasso. We had to catch the bus from Campobasso to Termoli as we took out car to be serviced there. Then a friend offered to pick us up in Termoli and took us home, which saved us like 20min 🤗 Working on video 2 right now 😉

Not cheap at all life in Italy . Same prices as in US . But I did not see prices fof phone internet bread butter honey . Those are necessary as well . Someone said below these are not necassary rather a choice . I dont agree . This I think small portion of necessary ecpenses . Detergents clothing is not included and many others as well . Overall very interesting . Thank you

Hi Bobby. This is only up until the 15th of April so there's more to come. Some things won't make it into the next video as there are things we don't buy every month. For example olive oil is €8/Lt and we buy a 5Lt tin so that will go a long way. Same thing with clothing, plus clothing is a really tricky thing since quality and prices vary so much. I made a video of prices of things a few months ago that you may find useful, will link it below, but still prices vary among supermarkets so it's just a general idea. 👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqumZJ95ndOCr9E

Great video - this one was most useful to me in terms of costs! I will be alone for most part as my daughter will be travelling so the cost will be half that of yours!. I sit here converting prices to our currency to see whether or not its cheaper but most times its cheaper in Italy even to buy a home. I'm still trying to figure out the gas and the other utility charges but will eventually get there. Thanks Fiorella, great job on this one.

Thanks Luci. I think for most people the biggest difference would be to not have a mortgage or high council rates, body corporate fees any more. Also, the fact that for the most part you can eat locally produced food that is non GMO, so hopefully in the long-term health would be better. I should be doing the second part of this video as soon as the month is up. In the meantime, I made another video a few months that discuss gas and electricity bills 👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqumZJ95ndOCr9E

Hi guys. It's not the Italian government that made the decision. The Canadian government broke the reciprocal agreement with many countries to 'decrease' foreign investment in Canada, as a consequence the other party has to do the same, so Canadians can't purchase in Italy as much as Italians can't purchase in Canada now. So in reality you have JT to thank for putting so many Canadians in this pickle! 🤷‍♀️

WOW! What a nice looking town. Just lovely. I cannot wait to find a nice new home in the next couple years, once I can leave where I am now! So looking forward to it. You must freeze everything (I would think) to get it to last or stay fresh the 15-30 days required. Here the mortadella would not last several days maximum before going bad. It all looks great. Hi Jean-Philippe, certain meats like ventricina are expensive, but I think the red meat we buy is pretty average. We get different types to mix it up, for example between meat for soup which is cheaper and steak which is more expensive. The quality is very good, even mince meat is made from a nice cut and minced in front of you

Are you working on your citizenship through the local comune in montecilfone, or are you applying in a bigger city like termoli? I've read that you can apply through any comune, but their interest and/or experience can make a big difference from town to town, kind of like our dmv system in the united states. That's something that's nearly as important as the location itself, is having a good comune to help with citizenship and integration in general. This was a great video! It's nice to see how affordably you can eat/live depending on how you want to live. For us, the local butcher, deli, and fruit/vegetable market is where the best food is found, and it also looks like it's the least expensive. Win-win!

Always good information, we would like to know what you're paying in Italy for income taxes? No one is sharing that information. We're visiting in 30 days and would love to live in Southern Italy we know most things are much less and excellent quality. However, Europe overall seems to have very high income and death taxes compared to the USA.

Hi guys, I think for the average person is difficult to do a video on taxes since it depends on Soo many things, including income bracket, activity, whether your country of origin has a reciprocal tax agreement in Italy, how long you have been in Italy and whereabouts in Italy you are, your age...the list goes on. There are some guys on YT that have very good videos for foreigners youtube.com/@esentaxa and there's another one channel Italian citizenship assistance that has videos on the topic youtube.com/@ItalianCitizenshipAssistance Hope this helps

Thank you and greetings from Melbourne! What is your feeling about your current expenses in comparison to similar expenses in Australia?
@rossinniandco
@rossinniandco Жыл бұрын
Hi Alexander, that's a great question! In Australia our groceries bill was a lot more than here. Going out to restaurants was really expensive and we hardly ever did that. The most we did to treat ourselves was to have Uber eats on the weekend, go to Grill'd for a burger every now and then, and/or go to a cafe for coffee (a cooked breakfast was also a rare luxury). Here eating out doesn't make you feel like you're going to go broke and often we can even shout friends when we go to the bar for coffee and pastries. We could not do that in OZ. Council taxes are way lower and we don't have the huge burden of body corporate fees! For us, the electricity bill is about the same and we have a bigger house here. Water and rubbish don't know yet as the bill is issued yearly. Gas bill (cooking) we're still figuring out, but for now we know that when we use a gas bottle we can save more. Car insurance is about 30% more expensive here than for us in OZ. One of the reasons is that here we're considered new drivers with no history. Petrol/Diesel is more expensive here, but we're not commuting as much so it lasts longer. Not paying a mortgage is one of the biggest changes for us! I feel that in general, we can live here with less. Hope this info helps

What waa the 550 cover for the gas?
@rossinniandco
@rossinniandco 11 ай бұрын
It was the cost to do drawings of the project bring the gas from the mains outside to the inside of the house and to do the actual job. Here, a plumber needs to present a project to the gas company and explain where the pipes will go, then when it gets approved works can commence. So the €550 was for that, not for the consumption. Here is a video on consumption 👇 kzbin.info/www/bejne/ap23hJ6VnKaWjMk
