Food Storage: Canning Honey in #2 Cans for Long Term Food Storage

In this video, we can honey in a #2 metal, epoxy lined can for Long Term Food Storage. We suggest having an old time "Church Key" handy to open the cans (You can also get, when they have them, the "pop' top cans). With light and air absent from the honey, it will store for years. We do suggest storing the honey at or below 70 deg F. The honey will crystallize, this is NORMAL. To get honey back to liquid, place opened can in a pot of warm water or set in the sun all day. The heat generated from the sun will warm the can de-crystallizing the honey. You can also use it in the crystallized form as you would regular honey. Thank you for watching!

Hi, i would do jelly's and jams in mason jars as they need to have a water bath, or buy commercial products and keep the rotation going. TY!

have you found or know where to find , plastic lids that fit the cans , so when you open cans you can seal the can from bugs dirt ect

Hi, i use House of cans and Berlin Packaging, want to ensure they are lined cans. I also suggest using the All American Can Sealer, the "Other Brand" is not as reliable in my opinion. Hope this helps, if you need more help, please feel free to call on me ! TY!!!!!
