Food Tour 2023 | Kota Kinabalu

Kota Kinabalu is a vibrant little city in Sabah, East Malaysia. I was there to trek up Mount Kinabalu and thought I'd take a few extra days to explore and rekindle my love affair with the city. I visited many years ago but the food did not leave a lasting impression. This time round, I managed to deep dive into its food culture and discovered plenty of good food. Based here since June and I must say Sabahans are polite, kind and welcoming. There's also natural harmony amongst Sabahans. I'm loving every single moment here, away from artificiality and crass commercialism, wherever it may be. Next time, go to outskirts of KK town and you discover even more wonderful food.

Oh, how long did it take you to get to the top of Mount Kinabalu?

About 4.5 hours to the rest house Laban Rata. Then another 3 hours up the summit. It was fun! Have you done it?

@@therivervalepig Wait, so it’s a 4.5 hour drive to the house and then a 3.5 hour climb (one way) to the top?? No, I have not done it.

@@heythaveit’s a 4.5hour hike up to the rest house followed by 3 hour hike at 2am to the summit… I have a video of the entire hike
