Fun fact, blueberry smoothies that use actual blueberries will do the "turn your poo green" thing, too! The reason for this is because of Anthocyanins, which are actually usable as a pH indicator. They're bluish-purple when their surroundings are acidic, but a dull forest green color when their surroundings are alkaline. And wouldn't you know it, but the intestines use alkaline substances to protect themselves by neutralizing the stomach acid that your body uses to digest your food.

I once ate so much watermelon in one sitting that my pee was clear. Watermelon would be a good food in my opinion. I didn't have anything else out of the ordinary. Nice story, interesting fact: Beta-Carotine (the orange making thing) is a precursor to Vitamin A. High(-ish) levels of Vitamin A can be very dangerous during pregnancies. Thats why pregnant women are told to stay away from liver and retinoids (topical creams for skin). High in pure Vitamin A. But the thing is, when you eat a lot of carrots it will not immediately increase vitamin A levels in your body. When your body senses that it has enough Vitamin A, it stops converting Beta-Carotine into Vitamin A. TLDR; Beta-Carotine turns into Vitamin A but can be stopped converting when levels are sufficient, pregnant women should not eat things high in Vitamin A. Carrots are fine bcz of previously stated mechanism.

If u wanna do another gatorade focused food theory, learn a bit about gatorade's effect in SFN (small fiber neuropathy) and more specifically, the hypotension parts of it. I was told a couple of yrs ago, after my sfn diagnosis, that drinking gatorade zero was the best way to treat the hypotension that comes from my small fiber neuropathy. Probably due to the electrolytes they supply. But yeah, it Definitely helped me. If I drank a 12 oz bottle of gatorade zero a day, it made my heart palpitation issue almost disappear and my dizzy spells/lightheaded issues got extremely lessened. But I got "sick of" the taste of gatorade n drinking more woulda made me throw up. It helps my body but makes my digestive system hate me more than it already does. It was the best treatment. But like any food, consuming too much makes it disgusting.
@vacafuega2 жыл бұрын
was it the sugar that was helping, or the electrolytes? because you can buy electrolyte powder to add to water that taste of almost nothing, and assuming the sugar wasn't necessary for the treatment, it's way better to have less sugar daily as well

i remember hearing that gatorade was initially made with much less sugar and was specifically meant for athletes who were doing intense exercise at the same time as consuming the mineral rich drink. problem was that your average person also wanted to drink it as a flavored drink and the company found a bigger market in this. so they changed their product to be sweeter and such to make it taste better to the average person looking for a flavored drink that made them feel like they were drinking a "health" drink. marketed as something that fit people consume made people associate the drink as a health drink despite the fact that it wasn't meant to be a health drink in that way. but that mistaken association created a larger market and made more money for the company so there you go.

What you need is an _indicator_ that is sprayed on the body when it is sweating. It can react with the AMS garlic sweat and change color. It might be very subtle, or only visible with a UV light as well. But once there is _any_ color that's different from the skin, Photoshop, or the _secondary color correction_ feature of your video editor can turn it into the neon colors you craved.

I had several cups of target brand’s Maple Bourbon coffee (it’s delicious) every day for literally a couple months, and after a while I noticed that my sweat smelled mildly like pancake syrup. It went away after I ran out and couldn’t buy it anymore (it’s seasonal). Then a couple weeks ago I was drinking a ton of Dunkin Donuts brand maple or Belgian waffle or whatever coffee. Went through the whole bag of grounds in under a week (I don’t drink nearly enough water). I got to the point of smelling mildly like pancakes again right around when I was about to run out

@Firesgone2 жыл бұрын
They actually do, it's due to the mineral contents of it. They are usually added for taste and if your faucet has especially hard water another reason it tastes different. Another reason why you don't need to drink gatorade. Distilled water (which is 100% pure) is actually kinda bad tasting by comparison. 5:49 My dad was in the US Air Force during the 1980s, and was stationed in South Korea for a year. The US and South Korean militaries often conducted joint exercises to ensure their forces would coordinate well in the event of an invasion. During those exercises, they would simulate and practice all kinds of situations. Any time the Korean forces would try to sneak up on the American ones, they found them ready and waiting, and couldn't get the element of surprise, no matter how hard they tried. The reason for this is that one of the most popular foods in South Korea is kimchi, which gives the sweat of anyone who eats a lot of it a VERY distinctive smell. The US soldiers could thus SMELL the Korean soldiers approaching them and prepare, no matter how carefully and quietly the Koreans moved!

1:00 a detail youre forgetting with that is that the University of Floridas mascot is the Gator. Its a fact most floridians know and as such at least hear in florida while anyone will drink gatorade it is still associated with UF and as such unless something changed recently FSU sells powerade on campus instead due to Seminoles V Gator Rivalry

Forgot to say that the salts and electrolytes allow you to RETAIN water. That is why it can hydrate you better, because you can pass pure water quickly. How good is Gatorade compared to average water? I don't know and don't think it matters for most of us. Well it does for me as I have heptorenal syndrome and retaining water is bad. Generally though it isn't a make or break difference. An older construction worker who worked down south on roofs and such would always have a jar of pickles. It would snap people up quicker. Take a gulp of pickle juice along with something else like orange or lemonade to help manage the heat. Water isn't the best. Heard ice cold chocolate milk is good in these situations too. Restore some calories with carbs, lipids, and protein while you're at it working hard.

Alternative idea: douse yourself in a colored liquid while you’re already sweating to make it *look* colored. It may just be a simple magic trick, but at least (depending on what substance you decide to shower yourself in) it isn’t highly dangerous

An add on for all the different coloured light stuff, specific chromophores can absorb specific wavelengths of light (i.e. different colours), which can then cause the molecular structure to change. So if this molecule is bound to a drug, we can take it and get the light into the body to release the drug wherever we want it to be released. It's called photopharmacology, and it's only in its early stages but it's very exciting for the future of controlling drug effects in the body.

Right from the start of the video, already dropping facts 😂 At field camp, I drank 10oz+ of V8 a day (2+ small cans, to try and help with vitamins and minerals) and by the second week I noticed my skin was a little more orange than normal 😅 At first, I thought it was just from all the desert sun but nope, it was the carrot juice in the V8 🥕🙃🥕

1:30 Two things: first, not all the essential minerals are electrolytes (but yeah, that's what most of the essential minerals are used for). Of course, some of them can play that role and others, like calcium (which is, of course, used for hard structures like teeth, bones, etc) or iron, which is used in hemoglobin. Second, many people in the developed world do have deficiencies of some nutrients. Sodium, definitely not--considering how much salt most of us have. But potassium? Yeah, that's actually not that rare. Some people like fully grown adult men need as much as 4000 mg, but many people don't quite reach their potassium needs.
