@@rabnadskubla8594 Fun fact about that, they actually appeared once before in the Tellius games (Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, where Ike and Micciah and Soren are from). There knives were lightweight low might but high crit weapons with no other real effects (also not 2-range) and the Stiletto was indeed one of the higher rank ones. I believe it was Steel or Silver tier. the first Assassin you get access to has one, and Mages had it as a weapon option (alongside Staff) to get prof with when promoting, though it was a terrible choice since it was one of the first games to split Str and Mag growth (technically it was always "Split" but mages had no access to physical damage and vice versa so Str was replaced with Mag, functionally the same stat though) and that resulted in Mages having trash Str growths and caps and the low Might of knives made them useless for them They then reappeared in a sense in Fates as the Nohrian counterpart to Shurikens, but they didn't have special names anymore like Stiletto so it's hardly worth mentioning. Engage is the real return of Knives as a weapon and HO BOY are they now amazing. Still wish you could toss them on mages though

During my high school prom, a lot of the girls on the dance floor chose to take their shoes off. We had a gruesome incident where one of them, who was wearing stiletto heels, accidentally impaled another student's foot by jumping on her. I imagine this sort of thing happens pretty often, but it was quite the shock to a room full of teenagers. On a side note, a group of a dozen or so boys got hurt from dancing on one of the tables, which collapsed. And one of my friends hit his sack while doing the worm. Crazy night.

I like Amy's approach with the last one. Whoever's attacking you is probably taller than you, so aiming for the top of the skull may not be viable. But you know what's easier to reach and absolutely full of weak spots? The face. The goal of this as IRL self-defence isn't to kill somebody but to cause enough pain to make them back off. Even if you miss the eye there's still gonna be bruises and blood. So yeah, aim for the face. Never expected this for the final Theory Wedge, but I'm 100% on board now that it's here!

I knew the outcome (for the stiletto at least) from the start because my mom has a story from before I was born. She was out clubbing and one guy got a bit *ahem* interested in her body. I don’t know if he had one too many drinks or was just a creep. Anyways, my mom was wearing stilettos, she felt threatened and stomped the thin part of the stiletto into the guys foot. If you’ve seen the full video you can probably guess what happened. On a different note I would love to see that video on how many shirts are required to stop a bullet.

I saw an article about a woman who got in an argument with a guy and used her shot to attack his face, which bruised him badly and could have blinded him. The main point of the article was that she didn't get the prison sentence that a guy would get had he injured a woman to a similar degree, but it does go to show that the heels are dangerous and should be treated as such.
@darklordofevil Жыл бұрын
I heard a similar story, except the guy died from the heel being stabbed into his eye,
@msk-qp6fn Жыл бұрын
I actually figured the results too just by remembering when I was stabbed in the foot by another girls' heels once. Didn't get a puncture wound but damn it hurt so bad and I had issues walking for a while that it might as well have. Also, this video showed me just why women NEED to have some kind of weapons to have any chance of self defense or thwarting threats away. The difference in the force in the punch between the girls/steph&amy and mat, and the effects they had on the skull replica with the heels visually showcased how much stronger men are on average so women are going to need some kind of weaspons fill in that handicap.
@msk-qp6fn Жыл бұрын
@@greywolf7577re is actually a room for arguement why that was ruled the way it was. Seems unfair but the reason why the woman wasn't given a higher sentence probably has to do with women in domestic abuse or any similar situations similar enough needing to use weapons to escape. Funny thing though, in most parts of east asia there is no way the woman in question will be given a lower sentence by virtue of using a weapon and it being intentional, which many actually would say it unfair. Utterly fascinating how the world is still different enough like this despite the globalization.

The whip like nature of a sandle really makes it sting more than a heavy shoe. When I was younger we had foam swords that got floppy, and hurt WAY more. So sandles may not do much damage but they do cause a descent amount of pain.

Y’know, I think I’m really gonna like Style Theory. Something I’ve noticed with Food Theory and Style Theory is that they have a very different feel from the other two channels. Game Theory and Film Theory have a lot of media analysis while Food Theory and Style Theory have more experimentation. As someone who enjoys Food Theory above the previous two channels, I think I’m gonna like Style Theory’s vibe. It’s awesome that we finally have the complete set now!
@CouchSpud91 Жыл бұрын
Game and Film theory put the majority of its focus on lore/story analysis and/or theoretical science with little glimpses into their respective corporate industries. Food theory has a lot of emphasis on chemical science with more insights on the food industry than the previous two, with some psychology constantly thrown into the mix. Style Theory, i feel, will have a lot of emphasys on psychology and physics, as demonstrated between this episode and the episode about Hulk's Pants, but put a LOT more emphasis on the Fashion industry like with the Pockets episode.

the funny thing is, there is an actual case about this! her name was ana trujillo, and she was a woman who was convicted of murdering her boyfriend, a prominent professor, by stabbing him with a stiletto heel in 2013. the case gained national attention in the US due to its unusual nature and the bizarre weapon used in the murder. trujillo claimed that she acted in self-defense, but the jury ultimately found her guilty and sentenced her to life in prison.

I love that the team decided to use this as one of their first theories for the new channel. I know the point was to show that heels can be deadly as a weapon, but I wish they would have also tried taking swings at the head as if it were a person standing up. In the experiment the head is positioned lower, as if the person being attacked is sitting down or crouching and you tend to get much more weight behind a downward strike than an upward one. Considering most women are shorter than or eye to eye with the person they would be swinging at, its going to be harder to hit the top of the head and you will most likely be delivering less force. Maybe they can do a follow up video where they explore that difference and some other deadly moves. A blow to the neck with that block heel could burst the major artery there or even crush the person's windpipe. Anyway love the new channel, can't wait to see what comes out next.
