There's an iconic tin whistle solo on the song You Can Call Me Al so anytime it's on the set list I always bring my tin whistle🙈 This was on St. Patrick's day so I had to throw a little bit of St. Anne's Reel in at the end:)
Musicians: Vince Wylie, Mariko Reid, Jacob Pleakis, Denzel Chismar-Oliver, Andrew Kirk, Brandon Lehman

This is an interesting comment to me. Mostly because it's not how I play (the clarinet). Once I've practiced a piece multiple times, I play via muscle memory rather than picturing the sheet music. By muscle memory I mean the positioning and movement of my fingers on the instrument. I suspect you're correct about this musician picturing/ reading it in his head through. It's fascinating to learn about how different people do things in different ways!

@Mr. King Paul Simon is a funny guy, he makes these weird faces in the original music video with Chevy Chase, and I think Frankie was paying homage to that during his performance, that was top tier, really enjoyable.. I'm not English native so maybe awkward wasn't the best choice of words
@Janaely
@Janaely Жыл бұрын
@@anameyoucantremember Awkward, or perhaps weird, is the right word, in my opinion. I dunno if Paul intended to make a face but it would make sense if he did intend to, cuz the video is a little weird (in a good way). Anyways, hope y’all have a swell day 😃💜

@Mr. King, nope. You might want to watch the original video for this song. The OP is spot on. Also, majored in English, so I’m good, thanks. That said, I get what you’re saying; this is a hard bit of music to nail perfectly on a tin whistle (as the player did), and requires a great deal of concentration (hence the rapid eye blinking). But there was a hint of the playful AWKWARDNESS reminiscent of Paul Simon in the video with Chevy Chase here as well.
