I've done a fair bit of rucking in UK mountains. No doubting the importance of foot care. I've finished some marches with blood soaked socks, a blister can seriously spoil your day. In UK there's a very good chance you'll get wet feet crossing marshes, bogs or streams and whenever you do adhesive patches loosen and slide about and stop protecting the patch you put them on. I use 1in or 2in wide thin zinc oxide tape looped right round the foot and stuck to itself to keep it more secure. That and Vaseline petroleum jelly over the tape to reduce the friction. Its the friction that creates the hot spot that creates the blister. Sometimes I'll just use coconut oil massaged into the skin. Might sound weird but it definitely works for me.

Dry those puppies out whenever you can. High quality socks and foot powder will be your friend. There was a SEAL in my mountain course that had the smelliest feet in the world. Any time he took his boots off it would clear out a room! He was a solid dude though so it was easy to overlook because he was such an asset to the team. Good luck 🤙🏽

Doing a 26.2 mile Ruck in early October for Veteran/Public Safety PTSD. Another website spoke of leukotape but one of the downfalls is taking it off. Your basically going to peel skin off if not done properly, stuff is apparently extremely adhesive.
