I have a nerve problem with my feet and one day I (mistakenly?) bought a sandal after wearing thick soled stuff for years and felt better - i was so surprised. Then I bought some Zero's and have been wearing them ever since - they are so light and I could walk better straight away - my nerve problem never went away entirely but the shoes are so good for walking speed/agility. Unfortunately I have since had a problem ordering on the EU site!

Thank you for the link to Zero Shoes. I found REI in my neighborhood had a pair of the ZeroShoes, exactly in my size.😂 I wore them out of the store, my feet loved it, and I love it. I walked around in that shoes all afternoon - indoor and outdoor. It's like walking barefoot... felt very natural. My legs and my back thanked me,, and I thanked the makers of Zero Shoes, Dr. Yoni, and You Tube for bringing this shoes in my home and heart. This is a keeper. 😍

I used to go barefoot most of the time, and when I did wear shoes, they were little flat slip-ons that had minimal soles. After having my fourth child, I started walking daily with a friend (in those little flat non-supportive shoes), but began having a lot of pain on the outside of my ankles every step I took. When I went to the foot doctor, he told me my feet pronated badly, and I needed to get orthotics. I ended up buying some shoes designed for pronation (with plenty of toe room, but they do have a thick heel, and an added insole with arch support), which fixed my pain, and I've worn them ever since. When I wear other shoes (to church, for example) for too long, the pain comes back. I've also noticed that as I age, the natural cushion in the balls of my foot seems to be decreasing, so just walking around barefoot hurts sometimes with little shooting pains. What do the barefoot/zero shoe people say to people with these kinds of challenges?

Great question, Joy. Yes, the natural fat pads in the body tend to atrophy with age. Having a little padding under the foot can help tremendously. The key is to maintain the natural position & alignment of the foot as much as possible while doing this and maintain a high level of sensory input. That's where minimalist, zero drop shoes with a wide toe box come in. If you haven't seen this shoe review yet, I would recommend watching it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJeWiWOIesmKpNU

Dear Dr. Yoni, I have a very problematic shoe fitting difficulty, because I am very flat-footed, with a high arch in my right foot, and I put-in arch-support insoles (as given by my podiatrist), because I have spurs underneath my feet soles on both feet, which is why, I badly need a wide-fitting pair of shoes or runners. Unfortunately, the shoe moulds of all shoe manufacturers are designed only for the narrow feet. I highly prefer to have a physical fitting first before I would buy, but unfortunately, Barefoot nor Zero Shoes, have no physical store outlet at all here in Melbourne, for me to walk-in. I do not know what would be a suitable one, for a flat-footed elderly overweight woman like me, would you kindly recommend? Barefoot gave me an email reply, saying that, they only sell online, but I am very hesitant to just blindly buy online. Thank you in advance for your kind help. Nina

I have had foot pain all day everyday for well over a year. It does seem to have been triggered by thick shoes, but I also had chronic mold exposure and resulting illness. I haven’t worn those shoes in months and spend most of my time barefoot with no improvement. First thing in the morning and after sitting as well as too much time on my feet cause the pain to intensify. Any suggestions as to what the root cause may be and how to fix it?

Sorry to hear of your pain, Michelle. Without more information & an examination it's difficult to say. I would suggest seeing a qualified practitioner in your area to determine the source of the problem.

I don't have foot pain often but I have noticed that when I stretch and point my toes in the morning...no problem. When I do the stretch lying down on the couch at the end of the day...my toes curl up and cramp. Like the witch from the Wizard of Oz. I had my husband try it and it's the same for him. Is this normal from walking all day?
@painfixprotocol
@painfixprotocol 3 ай бұрын
No. Having your toes curl up and cramp at the end of the day is not normal. Could be tied to a hydration issues, electrolyte imbalance, muscular strain and/or inappropriate footwear. Without more information, it's difficult to say.

I listened to a similar presentation by Yonni a while back and rush to buy zero shoes but I hardly wear them as I find the top too heavy; not sure why the imbalance. I have very delicate near perfect feet as I rarely wear shoes; I wish they were lighter on top..

Thanks for sharing, Micheline. Would you please let us know which style you purchased? I've never experienced a minimalist shoe being top-heavy and I would be very curious to know how that happened.

Women's Prio, it feels padded, especially where the laces are and around the ankle and one shoe weight 7.37 ounces; I had lighter shoes, unfortunately can't find them any more. Always enjoy your videos.

No, it wouldn't defeat the purpose - you're still getting more space for your toes to spread out & much more sensory input.
