Kurt Zouma’s brother got a worse suspension. He played for Dagenham & Redbridge. He recorded the cat incident. The club essentially kicked him off. But justice does get served as watford fans took the piss out of zouma in the match following said cat incident. What infuriates me the most is on social media when facebook users, namely from africa, go out and say things like “it’s just a cat. Who cares? You all just want him to be terminated because he’s black”. Like animal abuse and racism are both inhumane, but to lump them together is fucking ignorant and misses the point

Plus not to mention too, there's that one person from Everton that's been suspended and arrested for pulling an Adam Johnson and he's pretty much been forgotten about and this was an issue from July or August of last year. Footballers are just a reflection of our society, where the worst of the worst sometimes still make it to the top and make it big. I also hope as well that some of these clubs that make decisions based on football despite all this, that karma does come and bite them back in the ass.

As a Scottish person, Id like to give more insight into the Goodwillie situation. Goodwillie had been accused of these assaults in 2007-2009 nothing came of it then. In fact, many remember Dundee United fans signing "David Goodwillie, he does what he wants". However the assualt that nailed him was from 2014 and it was in 2016 that the courts declared him guilty and he paid out a settlement to the woman he had assaulted. Its important to note that he was not remorseful, he only cared about how the fine would financially impact him. In 2017 he moved from Plymouth to Clyde in scottish league one. People were not happy, but the outrage eventually died down. David was quietly (to the rest of the scotland) becoming club captain and a key player. When Raith signed him in January 31st, he was actually too goalscorer in league one. Raith received a huge backlash from people internal to the club. Raith released a statement basically saying "we signed him because hes good at football and we believe in second chances" second chances are great but should be reserved for those who actually give a fuck about the terrible thing they did no? Anyway a bunch more people left the club and they released a second statement like "oops sorry didnt know youd get so mad" and now they dont know what to do with him. Still getting paid tho.

I am not trying to defend Greenwood in anyway but you have to understand that someone says 'innocent until proven guilty', it does not mean that they believe Greenwood to be innocent, far from it. All it means is that it is not our place to prosecute someone when we have limited information about the case and that we should trust in the trained professionals to ensure that justice is upheld. So we literally cannot say that this person is definitely guilt (or not-guilty for that matter) when we are not presented with every bit of information, even if it looks like an open and shut case. Man Utd have already put out statements on their socials and website, wiped Greenwood from their store, offered shirt owners free replacements and denied Mason Greenwood legal counsel for his case. Since this is still an ongoing investigation, they can't do much except follow protocol and let the situation play out and trust the judicial system coming to a fully-informed an appropriate verdict, which the club can then in turn figure out the best course of action, eg reaching a settlement amount to terminate his contract etc. If Man Utd decide to cancel his contract right now, they would have to pay off the rest of his contract which you probably wouldn't like to hear and he could just appeal it anyway which would complicate matters further by drawing out the process longer, plus it's not like he's gone back to living the good life anyway cos he's still on bail. Also, the 14 days suspensions is the maximum suspension with full pay, so until that suspension period is over the club is forced to continue to pay his wages in full but once this period is over, it is likely he will continue to be banned from returning and his wages will be under dispute. This is a legal process, you can't just lock him up and throw away the key as soon as the news comes to light.

I've been so extremely outraged for so long regarding these situations, and finally someone who isn't underplaying it. I love to see that there's actually someone else who is deeply disgusted with these situations, and I personally feel like Antonio's comment was extremely unnecessary. Saying that racism is worse than animal abuse, doesn't make what Zouma did less wrong. There's no reason to draw a connection between two extremely horrible things, and I think that it defines these fucked up situations that players put themselves in, their teammates and club will defend them no matter what they did, when the things they do are inhumane to say the least. Great video Maqwell

thank you for making this video. it’s even better that you took your time to look into the cases and not just release something right away like most media did to get that clout. and none of them spoke about the victims or just about how all the clubs involved have tried downplaying every situation, making vague statements as to who the player is, what they did, slowly cutting them off when it came to light all the horrible stuff they did, that’s literally enabling them plus future players into thinking what they did was okay, it was just wrong that they got caught. it’s enabling supporters to think the same, literally what irks me the most about these situations is that you’ll go on twitter and there’ll be more people talking about the new ‘Prison FC’ member and making memes, than taking their time to spread awareness about abusive relationships, taking their time to stand with victims, no to twitter is just another starlet ruining his career ‘haha i got the perfect meme for that’ situation. it’s sickening how common abuse being tolerated is in football.

It's because there is too much money involved. When loads of money is on the line morality goes out the window for many. I'm surprised people are even surprised by these kind of things; probably because the world of football is so close to many peoples' hearts. At the end of the day they're just people though. People with money, fame and power on top of that. And people are assholes. There are about 86400 active professionals in pro football right now. To think that none of them are BAD PEOPLE is almost statistically impossible.

It is sad that even some of the lads in Vietnam still support Greenwood and Zouma as "young talent", and also, as the Asian mindset, they keep saying that nowadays feminism and animal protection is just becoming trendy so that women and gen Z could blame other people anything. A lot of professional British football players come from low income backgrounds. The 5% who graduate from the youth academies and get professional contracts within the (4 divisions of the pro) football league, tend to make life changing money for them & their families. I guess this is also similar in the USA within the major sports? With one glaring difference. College teams & educations that are granted in the USA have none to very little existence in the UK. Of course it's not 100% perfect system in the USA, but it's been developed (includes females), improved (includes all races) and increased the number of students/athletes over decades and decades. These ongoing horrendous issues have been recorded, released, withheld & silenced in the UK for decades and decades.

I'm a chick, I like football, and I survived sexual abuse from a young age. The idea of cheering over guys who could make fellow women what I went through sincerely disgusts me, and I'm far from being the only female football fan to think so. This complacency towards abusers is a form of utter disrespect toward a large chunk of the fanbase. It can't be defended from either a moral or business standpoint.

I’m so sorry, I can’t imagine. I have a lot of respect and empathy for people like you. A family member of mine has experienced sexual assault and domestic violence..and nobody knows. It has been like an earthquake in her life. The cruelest thing about it all is that unless she had reported it at the time, there is nothing that can be done now.. It’s a system that allows abusers to usually skate by with no repercussions while the victims suffer from PTSD and psychological damage/trust issues for life. I have my fist clenched just thinking about these scum. So yes, absolutely zero tolerance for this in football. There is no excuse and you should have your career ruined. Everyone deserves to the right to a fair investigation but I nearly always believe women. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. No more of this.

Manchester United could have handled it better, but I would not expect a club to immediatly burn a player before proper investigation is done. He's innocent until proven guilty, which aparently he is, so lets see what they'll do now. I'm also seeing a trend here, guilty as they are, only black players are trully beeing punished, even Robinho regarding an older case. Ronaldo got away with it, and Marcos Alonso literally killed a person but got away with it, lets hope its due to society changing and actually punishing privileged people like athletes rather than just beeing racist.

You’re Cherry picking a bit; Ched Evans, Gylffi Sigurdsson & Adam Johnson are all examples of white players who have recently been punished for similar crimes in England alone. The former was actually apparently charged wrongly and was later exonerated after serving years.

With the Zouma incident, what he did was clearly wrong there is no escaping that but the punishment people are literally petitioning for clearly does not fit the crime. It seems like everyone is coming at him, wanting him to be dealt with even more severely but he has already been punished a lot and nothing more is gonna make Zouma less likely to abuse an animal again cos it's already quite likely that he won't do abuse another animal instead (a lot more likelier than a racist player not being racist ever again). Also what Michail Antonio could come across as misleading but his rationale was very true. People are up in arms right now (and rightly so) but why don't people come with the same energy when it is the almost reoccurring incident of racism? We don't see people pushing for players to be sacked or former UFC champions calling the perpetrator out for a fight or the subject's family being targeted, it's almost as if we accept that we can't really do anything to punish the racist, which is messed up if you think about it. Also once it is has come out, zouma can't do anything but apologise, but in this case does that make it any less sincere? Does it mean he doesn't regret it? If you don't accept their apology, would you prefer if they hadn't made one? He's held himself accountable and has accepted the punishment given to him already, so why can't we just move on instead of kicking him while he's down? If the police are not taking any further action, why should we accept trial by social media?

One is verbal other is physical big difference, except whem racial abuse is also physical abuse the 2 aren't comparable. Racists shouldn't be punished by the law if it's verbal, as its their free speech. What the clubs chose to do with them is completely up to them as they are their own separate operating force and they can ban whoever they want, remove fans cancel tickets completely up to the club, and they do. And i don't understand what the big deal is about, whenever a black player comes under abuse even if its only verbal the football world is in uproar about it, doxxing the abusers calling up their jobs trying to destroy their lives, stadiums are littered with pro black movements he has no argument saying football is anti black in any way. I swing no way in this other than racists shouldn't be silenced and arrested for WORDS either on the internet, uttered in private or public spaces unless threatening, in that case use the brandenburg test to see weather said threats are deemed worthy of prosecution. Im mixed brazilian and polish I've gotten shit before for having a spanish sounding name in ACTUALLY racist regions and as much as it hurts my right not to be offended doesn't outweigh their right of free expression, no matter how racist or vulgar🤷‍♂️

I think the club can be sued by those players because in legal terms they aren't guilty yet. The players can file slander against them and that would cost them more money. Legally they can terminate but every contract has a lot of clauses and can be more expensive than just paying the players. Giving him 300k instead of going to court and losing potential millions for slander and ruining someones name that currently isn't prosecuted is worst for the club. The Rovers one was is idiotic, who the hell signs a convict?!
