Man maqwell doesn’t have good football knowledge lol. I mean you could just see some of his euro and World Cup predictions. But he doesn’t even have good knowledge about his own national team. I remember when he thought Nguyen cong phuong was our best player in a fifa video years ago…and as for this draw I’m really failing to see how this is a bad draw for Vietnam here. Japan is obviously the best team but they don’t even perform how they should against Vietnam. We actually play some of our best football ever when we play Japan. Watch the Asian cup 2019 quarterfinals again and we could of very well sent the game to extra time if we had a bit better luck, Vietnam has faced japan loads of times and are very familiar with their game. As for Iraq, they really aren’t much ahead of Vietnam at all. It’s been pretty much equal each time they’ve met. This is actually a pretty decent draw for vietnam. Not bad at all. I feel like maqwells reaction to this is more because of his own unconfidence with the recent results of the Vietnam national team and the changing of manager. But this is a decent draw.

@ORN227 Iraq is better than Vietnam but not far ahead. Out of all pot 2 teams, there were only 2 other teams weaker than iraq in my opinion, Jordan and China. Two teams that are also pretty much equal to vietnam. Maybe Uzbekistan. Iraqs performance in the gulf cup was impressive but that tournament is definitely not taken as seriously especially for teams like Saudi Arabia etc like many other regional tournaments.

I say this with the least disrespect possible but maqwell is really overrating your team. Not sure why he’s so disappointed in Iraq. The matches between Iraq and Vietnam shows this, Iraq is not that much ahead of Vietnam. I honestly believe Mitoma needs his teammates to be supportive in order to play effectively. Not that he's not great, but he needs his team to be set up for him. That's not how Japanese national team worked in the past so in my personal opinion, defending players focusing on Mitoma isn't great idea. The most scary feature of the Japanese national team is when great midfielders fused with a consistent scorer like Kyogo.

Indonesian here! Fresh from winning the SEA Games' Men Football, we're no longer clown of Southeast Asia lol. Here's my thought regarding the draw. Vietnam - before SEAG, I really dread Vietnam. After 2010, you guys are really hard to beat. Even reaching Thailand level and last round of World Cup AFC qualifiers. but after SEAG, bring it on! we're no longer high on copium but raring to go! Iraq - the kind of team I like to face, for variety reason. they have sweet memories winning in our home stadium back in 2007. we really liked them back then. Japan - there are jokes all over the internet that Asnawi will pocket Mitoma lololz. we're breathing copium at maximum flow rate. I personally do not see us advancing to knock outs, but will be joyous if we managed to win against Vietnam and/or Iraq. 4 pts would be the target (realistically even 1 pt would be tough) but here we go. we even book Argentina for next month friendly, quite bonkers at that!

Contrary to what Maqwell thought, we Malaysians actually are quite optimistic with our draw. We fought with Bahrain toe to toe in our last game, lost because of penalty from keeper error. Defeated Koreans 2-1 & lost by 1-0 to Japan in Asian Games before where some big names are in the current team. Our current winning momentum under Korean coach Kim Pan Gon is also helping us considering he's the VP of KFA before. He literally know in and out how the Koreans play. Its a tough draw for sure, but its not that impossible.

It is uncomfortable for us. That means he knows our strong points and weak points. And I think maybe he will feel same things with our former coach, Paulo Bento. Bento was Portuguese. As an Iraqi, I am happy that at least we didn't get Iran, lol, it's going to be a good challenging group and we have an improved FA thanks to legend Adnan Derjal and his team, good young talent including players from the premier league and bundesliga as well as more local talents and youngsters managed to reach the AFC finals in the under 20s squad, a new spanish manager building a team and the best fans.

As an Iraqi, I really think you are going to advance to the round of 16 at least as a 3rd place. Having a tough group really gonna help you by setting the pace and preparing the team. In addition, you'll avoid both Iraq and Japan in next rounds. Matches against Vietnam were always enjoyable and I believe at this point you have the best team in SEA.
