Hi Gobby. Welcome to Brazil. 😊 So Brazil is a federation, which means it has several states which combined to form the nation of Brazil - you being English could think of these as counties, but they have a lot more autonomy to act independently of the central government. This impacts their football federation, as it has to both cater to the national game, but also to supporting each state region. Thus, each state has its own 'league' which comprise of only teams from that particular state. So think of if it as if all the yorkshire teams or suffolk or middlesex teams played in their own seperate pre-season league for example. So you could have a league with Salford, Oldham, Man U and Man city as part of it for example. Personally, I love it. Its a great pre-season warm up and you get a great chance to blood young players for the first team before the season kicks off. I think this regional set-up is part of the reason why Brazil produces so many talented youth players as tournaments like this give them chance to step up and show off their skills. When you get a bit further into this save make sure you're scouting this competition across all the states (there is a lot of them). Its a great chance to find hidden gems that you can sell onto to Europe. Also get ready to see some weird contracts. Players will have mandatory release clauses for both domestic and international teams. You WILL lose players to Europe. Make sure you have a large squad, particularly when you get to div 1 and copa america competitions. Your going to be playing 60-70 games a season easy.

Not 100% positive, but from what i can tell the Northeast Regional Championship (there are a bunch of other versions of this too) is basically a giant friendly tournament.

It sounds to me like the Northeast Regional Championship is a route in to the other friendly tournaments (not too sure, I only know this much as I'm currently managing in the Brazilian First Division in a Pentagon save)

I am quite new to fm, but I have a quick question: How did you find the recommended tactic? i haven't seen that screen, or does it just pop when taking over a new team??

Hi Agent, thanks for the comment. Usually when you start a new save, the game asks you to select a tactic and formation of your own, this Brasil save had a tactic and formation already selected for me, not sure why. However when you select a tactic, you will be given options for formations and on one of them it will say STAFF RECOMMENDED. Hope this helps
