I’m a Catholic living in the U.S. and I have friends with different religious backgrounds. They celebrate Christmas. They may not believe in Christianity but for them, a Christmas tree symbolizes joy and festivities. They are well integrated and assimilated in the American culture.

Muslim or not, people are free to have a choice as to what they do at Christmas. As a Pagan I celebrate yule on 22nd December but have no problem giving Christmas presents to Christian family members. Salah's kids are raised in Britain and it is his right to have Christmas decorations even if he is Muslim.

Some of it has been brought it by other 'traditions' but if you wish to celebrate it then fine same as if ppl wish to celebrate Eid or other religious festivals. @thenumber5bus I was in Abu Dhabi years ago, the festival of lights, Diwali, was just finishing. The authorities couldn't get the street decorations down quick enough in case they were used by the Ex-Pats for Christmas. LoL I had to laugh.

It's what life is about, celebrating with one another.. my wife was a teacher in a comprehensive school for years. As a firm tutor the first kids to bring in a card were Muslim.pupils.. gives us all hope.

Absolutely i was born in leeds in 1979 in a muslim family. While growing up in the 80s even though we never had a Christmas tree in our home My dad bought us presents and Christmas cards to give out to our classmates. Also, my parents came along to Easter and Christmas events at our school. You can be a muslim and take part in the tradition of this country. Anyone who says otherwise only wants to segregate themselves and not be part of the wider British culture.
