However in this moment with his form in comparison to others, his not getting past Palmer in the 10 position and you could argue his not getting past Sancho at left wing because of recent form. Maresca's thinking regarding attacking players is frustrating. Felix deserves a starting run in the Prem. Moving Palmer to RW would clearly make it more difficult to contain him. Neto and Noni hasn't show anything to suggest they deserve to start.

I think we saw the beginning of an interesting wrinkle Maresca may use. Tosin can shoot, so maybe slide him into CDM like Pep did with Stones to mix it up. His size is a problem, he passes decently, is a menace on set pieces, and if he offers some danger shooting, maybe he helps us break down the low block.

@TheIrishFoley I'd go watch that goal again if I were you. And his shot in the first half. It wasn't lucky. He had 2 yards and picked out the top corner, then bent it right into the upper 90. He didn't put his head down and smack it, he picked a corner and put it there. I'm not saying change the formation all the time, but we need to do something to break down low blocks against counter attacking teams. Having a 6'5" shooting CDM is a weapon we didn't think we had. So, maybe try it sometime?

First half: Absolutely dreadful; League 2 level. Second half: Normalcy. Again we need a reminder, we faced a team that's 23rd in League 2 (that's 2 divisions below the Championship). So while 5-0 is nice, it should have been close to minimum expected. We shouldn't need to bring on so many first team players. Anyways, I guess win's a win, and it's good to have a clean sheet after some time. We move.

@timmyjoshua276 Low blocks are an issue for most if not all top teams that have more of the ball. Clinicality would help certainly, but we do also need those odd goals(like Tosin today). So many set-piece opportunities wasted again. Lots to improve on both front and back.

Felix is more foreplay than penetration, against low level opponents he produces, similar to Nkunku, but when you really need him against a hard working aggressive prem league side he goes missing, example Ipswich, he had 55mins to shine and he didn’t, I believe Maresca can not trust Felix or Nkunku to produce a level of consistency, I doubt very much they will start against Bournemouth an aggressive shithousery of a team that know how to quieten down Palmer and annoy our players, Bournemouth is the next acid test for Maresca, has he learned from the last 2 weeks🤔

The team you were watching didn't have Felix on it which is why you didn't see him "do anything productive until 3-0". You missed the nice turn and near post shot he had that the keeper saved brilliantly, you missed the goal bound shot that deflected for a corner, you missed the fact that he caused the penalty that Nkunku missed, you missed the constant movement and great footwork inside the opponent's penalty box, you missed the good defensive work and hustle, and you certainly missed the nice link up play he had with his teammates. That terrific first touch that almost went out of bounds and he hooked the ball back into play and striking the defender arm which was up bc he was saying the ball was out was brilliant by him. The two tackles he put in all game was clinical as always stopping a counter attack. His link up play was unreal, being able to create one chance for your teammates all game at CAM is just world class. Guy got shown up by a 18 year old youth product on the wing, you know the kid who actually had 5 key passes, 2 assists, higher pass accuracy, and more dribbles completed.
