I think its a best all round situation. Like i love him as our csptain but at this point the injuries are hurting us. Better we let him go to a club he has a chance of staying fit. Yan, in the case of Reece James, we can’t really look at him in pure footballing terms. He and his sister at the same club as a brand is huge to the club. If you break that up, the club takes a financial hit in many other areas. In a crass way of looking at it, Conner Gallagher had to go to protect Reece James. Big Picture!!! Perhaps you have to be American to understand the power of having siblings at the same parent Club. Perhaps it’s like the Nielsen sisters in Track and Field in the UK a bit? So long as he is not a lost cause, the Club has no long term interest or reason to make a snap decision because of short term squad needs. He and Cole Palmer are the most valuable assets at the club. You don’t sell that and replace. And with who?

I might be in the minority but I have no problem at all if Reece leaves, I love him as much as any other Chelsea fan but he contributes practically nothing to our team, if he plays more than 10 times for us this year I'll eat my hat, another problem is Reece is an attacking fullback, Maresca doesn't even use his full backs like that, he would be inverting into midfield, taking away what made him the best in the first place, players come and go, it ain't a big a deal, don't get too emotional about it
