You haven't mentioned in the video, but there is one lovely engineering detail about the stadium (hopefully they told you during the visit): The roofs above the stands have a specific inclination, and the rain water is recovered through big conduits towards a huge water storage in one of the basement floors, that is then used for all non-human consuming water purposes (toilets, to sprinkle over the grass, etc.). I had that tour several years ago, and loved it. Thanks for sharing yours. Cheers.

One of the best stadiums I've been to, great place for a visit, I was there in 2004 when Hearts knocked out Braga in the UEFA cup, the stadium is so charismatic and unique
@chelseacharger2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I like how way more relaxed they are about things in Portugal. In 1995, me and mates were in Lisbon for a Portugal v Rep. of Ireland match, so checked out the stadiums there. This was before Benfica and Sporting's stadiums were rebuilt. I think we only paid the equivalent of a pound to check out the trophy room in the old Stadium of Light. Up the road, we just wandered into the Jose Alvalade Stadium, right up to pitch-side. We'd earlier visited Belenenses cool Restelo ground with its great view over the Tagus river. Local fans in the bar overlooking the pitch gave us a great welcome. A lot of these clubs in Portugal are not simply 'football' based but are involved in other sports and the facilities are open to be used by locals on non-match-days. They are very big on 'community'.

Hello, just to clarify: we indeed have a different way of saying goodbye to both spanish and italian. They have "adiós" and "ciao", and we have "adeus" and "xau". Adeus is a more formal way of saying it, Xau we use it for friends and family (even though you can hear it elsewhere because we are just that nice to people xD) and was borrowed from Brazil. Brazil has a huge amount of italian influence, mainly in Rio, so Xau may actually have been a variation from their Ciao, not sure though. But while Ciao is both for hello and goodbye, our Xau is only for goodbye. Glad that you actually go and vlog the cities you visit instead of just going to the game and that's it. You are always welcome to visit us :)

At least i woke up and started to really become a fan of football and Aris after i watched my team beat Atletico Madrid in Europa League in 2010/11...But i really regret that i didnt really appreciated and given enough interest in the past matches like the one against the historic SC Braga :(

Awesome video, mate!🔥 As a Sporting CP fan, I found your channel because of the Sporting vids. Also your portuguese is getting better in each vid 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I'm prety sure that the stadium belongs to the Braga's council, municipality. And S.C. Braga rents it out. 1o de Maio is the clubs stadium, but the B team is the only one playing in it now. you should also go and have a look at that one. I think it needs a lot of work, but it deserves the renovation. Keep up with the videos in Portugal, we are loving it!!
