I believe that this silent vid just makes a different presentation of what longtime followers have been seeing all along ... yet it is fresh! Discipline needed
@lando.4092 жыл бұрын
Sure, discipline plays a small role, but I think it’s more to do with not having constant distractions fighting for you attention (phones, computers, social media etc), remove these from your life and all of sudden you have a lot of hours available that can be filled otherwise, with more meaningful stuff.

Consider entering this short film into a film festival. I think it has potential to win big-- I was mesmerized by the natural scenery and much to my surprise it caught my attention all the way through when I thought it would be boring without talking parts, or music score. I also agree, a good film. As for being excellent on youtube, It was far better than many so called “tutorials”, showing very useful skills, and simple tools to make gate latches, a new building, the morning routines of a smallholding, how to chop kindling, and more, and all while telling a story, without overstimulation (except for the chainsaw). I loved everything (I didn’t love the saw, would have been happier with a hand pulled saw but I also understood the choice,) so nearly everything perfect. A precious way to spend the day. You know what I loved most? The precision of his movements, like well worn moves in an age old dance. Familiar as his old pup friend. Thank You Mathias for sharing your life here.

I think this is what people forget when they ask about your projects. They watch the videos and never really see the daily things that always must be done because the farm, the animals, the people well everything is depending on that they are taken care of every day. You can't simply go back to sleep or take a day off for a project because then your animals wont get fed. Projects need to happen on top of what you guys do everyday and i think this showed it so well =)

This video reminded me of those cold, clear nights when I go outside and just stare up at the sky in wonder. There’s something amazing about the silence. It can be eerie and deafening all at once, yet create the most haunting beautiful sound to ever exist (because there is always sound in silence). That magic is what makes these videos so entrapping and captivating!! Nothing about your life seems easy to me, you do it out of discipline and love. Never lose that and keep up the great work!!

You are a skilled intelligent man. What you do is admirable . To me you are a teacher by example. From you I learn. Not only from workmanship but philosophically. You have a curious mind, you find wisdom where it can be found. You absorb this wisdom and apply it to your universe . Above all , which I find is the most important is your respect for nature and especially your love for all animals, wild or domesticated. I love how you see as beauty in simplicity. Details of natural scenes such as the cat stretching, the dog enjoying running in the snow, etc…The environment in which you live and find simple happiness is I know is the best to be had. I wish you so well. May it be that your lives unfold with continuous fulfillment in what you love to do. As a whole I think you are a very private family but you have the generosity in perfect humility to share what is important in life. Healthy nature lives within your family as it you in it. I really appreciate how your life is lived and am grateful that you are sharing it with such artistry through your videos. For me, as an old man now, I know for sure you’ve got it right. Carry on…you are a wonderful family. Thank you for sharing. You are my preferred videographers. animals.

Enjoyed this video very much. Your daily life seems simple but growing up on a farm myself is a lot of work. The animals depend upon you as you depend upon them. there are many projects that take time to complete. Watching your videos cleanses senses and soul - its like a poetry, so so rare to witness someone truly living with a purpose. To warm up your house first thing in the morning ( I bet nothing is as satisfying as looking into those first flames on a chilly dark winter morning), getting fresh water you drink and wash in from a nearby stream ( can´t imagine how that goes when you have snow blizzard outside and 30 cm snow), making your meals, feeding your animals .... I am sure it looks way more romantic than it truly is and when not everything goes right you must feel frustrated and tired too, but living like this is living, truly living. Stay healthy and beautiful 🙂 ... your dogs are absolutely stunning :-)

We just discovered your videos and really like how you live, your son is adorable. You were talking about the way you are raising your son OFF Grid What a wonderful life you are giving him, Thank You! I am 68 from Kansas, USA and grew up oldest of 6 children we kind of grew up off grid we did have electric. My dad seemed to be able to build or do anything, we are a close-knit family. We did not have running water or indoor bathroom, we carried our water in and warmed it on a stove, We bathed in a long tub we carried in the house, hung up blankets in one room and took turns, then carried out the tub. We use coal or wood my dad cut to heat the house. We milked cows, raised chickens, we really like your beautiful chickens and animals. We did lots of canning ate very simple, it was very rare to go to a Dr., never went out to a restaurant until I was 17yrs old. No one in the family took Meds, we used home remedies. My Grandparents and parents went thru the Great Depression. We think you are wise to start so young to live like this. Keep it up, I do not believe you will ever regret it, a simple and quiet life is really good, and outdoor work is healthy. Take care May the Lord Bless your family
