We do not realise how much salt was valued in days gone by. Jesus likening us to the salt of the earth reveals how much he valued us His followers. Dear Fr Warner, thank you for helping us realise our identity as salt of the earth and light in the darkness. Above all, using the Beatitudes as a barometer of our nearness to that ideal.
