@@9553shadow To be fair maybe that small push can wall splat we never saw them close enough to see. Personally I like the zone will be nice for target switching I think melee one to push them back then you have either a fairly fast 20 damage light or a high damage undodgable heavy for that target switch. I see some good utility. Also since you have to input the attack after the melee could be nice for saving some stam if you end up knocking them off, or just don't want the extra recovery time if another enemy shows up behind you.

Fucking yes, I've been longing for the day of skill based defensive play to return to For Honor. The direction for so long has been moving to; more unblockables, more 50//50's, more dodge or die gameplay. Having a character that can ground itself and say no, no I don't want to play assassin playstyle, no you don't get to throw unblockables and reactables all day. I lost season 1 Warlord but I gained Vortiger.

The biggest race will be to select this hero before your teammate in brawl. Vortiger will be everywhere for a few days / weeks for sure. As always, lot of people will start crying because he is too "OP", unbalanced, broken whatever, just because he is fresh, and they don't know what to do against him. Can't wait to meet / play him.

I really like the direction of him actually, as someone above mentioned Vort is a counter to the mindless button mash one ability playstyle of Soooo many "players, absolutly more bot like than bots..." He is countered by something that has been a fundamental of the game since launch, feint mind game mixups. His design feels like its very much a "screw off with the spamming, mix me up bae."

People saying this guy is op but I just don't see it. Yeah his feats are busted but that's about it. The shield flip is vulnerable to GB and the input isn't exactly fast and it needs to be timed, the same as Conq's I'm fairly sure which can't be done on reaction to most attacks faster than 600ms. The shield bash is 600ms and can only be done off forward dodge or light chain, strong for sure on the second option but then again you know it's coming, it also has barely any input delay unlike Conq's shield bash. Hawk's charge just like Conq's shield uppercut is hilariously slow and easy to see coming and only guarantees a light. Yeah this guy has a lot, but at the end of the day that's all he has...a lot. None of these moves seem ridiculously strong.

So basically for first couple weeks make sure you have a centurion on your team to counter him. some other counters that could work I am thinking are shonbi grab and a good warden player who feints shoulder bash into a garb break. Just remember there is always a counter you just have to look hard enough and that’s what is great about this game. Fun matches to watch with this character I think would be this guy and crusader and warlords those would be matches I would grab popcorn for

This king of full block counter is really useful aganst 400 ms lights bcs if you know its coming u can couner it otherwise I expected better in duels you can definetly do unblockable mixups so you can do stuff similar to ehat JJ does hes moveset is better in multiplayer tho and hes feats execially hes heal when blocking its useful in fights and after fights probably a must pick for multiplayer

Shugoki has hyper armor on his top heavy, can soft feint a heavy into a Demons and it looks like he can actually feint his unblockable now. They took away his passive hyper armor

He actually seems very balanced, his bash is reactable, his Bulwark stance can't be abused because suprerior block isn't a thing, he doesn't have 50ms lights, gg Ubi, gg

im definitely excited for him im a little disappointed in his kit though I was hoping for a stronger offense and it would of been really cool if his spikes on his shield was a mechanic it could of made him a more interesting character im still gonna main him though dude looks badass and going to be really good in team fights
