As a new Christian during the 80's Stryper was the first HARD rock artists I heard who were Christians! Their music encouraged and emboldened me in my walk with Christ. Lecrae is a very talented artist, though not my genre, I appreciate him and his talent. Then, of course, there is 4K&C! Goodness this is gonna take a while. I’ve had strypers posters hanging in my locker since 1985. I too was chastised, but that’s not what this post was about. these guys have been in what I would call the Christian desert for 40 years as long as Moses, walked through the desert and I understand that’s two different situations. The idea that they’re finally being honored even in some way destroys me in the best of ways. Thank you for your respect for this band that has done such wonderful work and has been so faithful Throughout the years, thank you thank you thank you. You just don’t know when I couldn’t go home at night because dad was being dad. I would drive around all night and listen to stryper and Keith Green. Thank you so much to these guys for doing what they do. There were a lot of times because the pastor was cool. Not creepy at the church. I went to he gave me a key and I would go in there and sleep in the pews at night. There were so many guitars around. Michael, you are the reason I began playing guitar almost 40 years ago. alright i am going to be completely honest here. i believe the intent of the song is misplaced. it is focusing on the downfall of the devil which i do not believe is what we are called to do. yes Luke 10:19 insinuates that we have the authority in Jesus's name to trample over the powers of evil; however, the very next verse says we are not to rejoice in this, but rather rejoice in the fact that our names are written in Heaven. the song does not seem to clearly mention Jesus's name at all. in addition to that, it is worth mentioning (though a few have mentioned it) that not even Michael the archangel would dare slander the devil as in Jude 1:9. instead of doing so, he submitted to God's authority and said, "The Lord rebuke you." i believe this is an important distinction to make. though God is with us and no power can stand against us, i am merely saying it seems unwise to pray on the devil's downfall when we know God's already won. "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8) just dropping off my two cents, peace be with you all. GOD HAS ALREADY WON FOR US!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!! ❤❤❤
