I think the thing I found most about Sam was in the beginning he was really quite camera shy. I think Sam was an intrinsically private and shy person who hid that behind his at times sarcastic attitude. As time went on, one got to see more of him as he truly was. while I never met him, I came to like and admire him very much as I saw his passions come to life. Sam was the life of the party, he was the one who made everyone happy. I have been watching from the beginning and Sam always made me laugh, and when I found he passed in a plane crash my heart was ripped out of my chest. God wanted him home and he is in charge of everything. We are all just happy that we knew him and how he changed all the lives he touched.

Was in shock when I found out about the accident. Felt like I lost a friend even though I only new Sam from watching Rebuild Rescue. Was bitter sweet when my 401 plane tag arrived sometime after. Made me happy and sad at the same time. To me Sam is the 401. Can't wait to see the 401 fly in person at some point. Maybe Oshkosh in a year or two. Completion of the 401 has extra special meaning to me now.

Still can't believe Sam has been taken from our midst. I remember being one of the many guys that said Sam's name should be on the 401 and I am honored to see that he is being honored in this way. I just hope his wife and family appreciates it as well, and I think she and they do. Now... quite dawdling and get the show back on the road. Can't stay sobbing around forever until you grow too old to get the plane done. I couldn't watch this until now, I needed a few days to be in the right place to watch it, and my Husband won't watch it because he knows it's going to upset him a lot. I am so glad now that I've watched it, and know God brought this community together, in flight with Sam and Jason Piloting the journey with a rescue crew. I'm a teary mess...but I'm grateful for the bits of Sam's life I was fortunate to witness. I very much appreciate the effort put into producing this video. Sam was a great guy: anyone who'd GIVE YOU an airplane when he'd never even met you (but probably realised instantly what good people you all are) is by definition, a great guy. Very quickly it was obvious he'd made the right decision when he saw what you all wanted to do with N81AD. He is already very missed including by me over the other side of the ocean.
