Here’s a performer that I would really like to get your reaction to. As a background, Angelina Jordan (16) began singing at 1 ½ and making several studio recordings at 6. She’s a self-taught child prodigy, who grew up listening to jazz and the blues. At 7 years old, little barefoot Angelina auditioned for Norway’s Got Talent. Angelina arranged her music and delivered spot-on performances of jazz classics that stunned everyone. She was so young you can even watch her permanent teeth filling in from her first and last performance. The outcome, Angelina swept aside the other finalists and won as a newly turned 8 year-old. The first piece is her ‘black and white studio performance’ of "I Put a Spell on You" (Screamin' Jay Hawkins, 1956). At 9 years and 2 weeks old, Angelina had arranged the music for the band, her lyrics, and gave a performance that shouldn't be possible for a 9 year old girl. Many have said she has a very old soul when it comes to music. The second piece I would love to get your reaction to is Angelina’s (13) audition for America's Got Talent the Champions. Angelina, as is her way, sang her own unique arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Queen, 1975). Not only did she receive a golden buzzer, advancing her to the finals, she got a tweet from Queen for her rendition. Here's the background on why she goes barefoot whenever she performs on stage or while making a studio recording: The story is that when living in the Middle East, at age 6, she came across an orphaned girl earning money by weighing people in the street with a bathroom scale. She noticed how cold it was and that the 6-7 year old girl was not only barefoot, but had scars on her feet. So 6 year old Angelina took off her own shoes, shoes that she loved, and gave them to the girl. Angelina decided she wouldn't wear shoes in her performances to remind her of all the children in the world who had no parents, proper clothes, or shoes. Hence, you will hear her called the "Barefoot Princess", or the "Barefoot Princess of Jazz". Of the encounter, little 6 year old Angelina wrote in her diary: “The world is very strange. Right then and there I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.” In 2015, at 9 years of age, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter, making her the youngest published author in Norway. The book and the attire Angelina wore for her AGTC audition were designed by her grandmother who was a child prodigy in art.

These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre including R&B. Rob sang this with so much soul. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. Rob takes the lead in quite a few songs such as "Blue Ain't Your Color", "Catch Me If You Can", "Country Roads Take Me Home", "Dreamer", "Spaceship" etc.

Yeah I think most reactors didn’t expect that out of Rob. He killed it. It’s ok to be attracted to one person’s voice. I like them all for different reasons but together their harmonies are so dang good. They all have different qualities to their voices. Like I loved Take Me Home Country Roads as they all contribute and it’s fabulous. Good reaction MI. Glad you’re feeling better.

I don't want to say that Rob has a better voice than the others, but the truth is that when he sings it really gets me to a shiver through my whole body to goosebumps. Sometimes I get that with Chance too. But I also think that the blend, the harmonies and all the super beautiful voices in the whole make me a huge fan of Home Free. Because even though I like their solos too, I prefer them as a group. It's the group Home Free that I listen to every day and even get me through difficult times

Congratulations on all of the wonderful changes coming to your life! Nice to see you back. As for Rob, I, am part of Team Beard. I tried to not admit that I have favorites, because I love them all, but Rob and Chance are the ones that get to me at a soul level. Rob’s voice has so many textures, and Chance can take you on an emotional journey. For more Rob try “Dreamer”(do their original version first, then check out the new one with Texas Hill). For more Chance try “I Can’t Outrun You “, 5 part harmony and Chance directed the video.

About voices although I tend to like baritone through bass voices in general, Rob's voice is always a treasure to listen to. Love all the headgear. My personal favorite singer from Home Free is....YES! There are certain songs that they've just matched up perfectly that gives each singer the spotlight and they shine! They do the same thing with changing the songs up, they know which ones they can mess around with and which ones they stay very close to the original. But nearly always, I enjoy Home Free's version better. I've actually gotten to the point where I feel that instruments clutter up the song and detract from the lyrics. But that's just my opinion!

Hey...kind of late to the party here, but I'm a serious Home Fry and there's a few songs you've GOT TO check out (especially knowing how you feel about Rob!). I hope you'll be back on here doing more HF reactions SOON!! OK Here's the skinny... You simply have to do "Blue Ain't Your Color" - Rob carries the whole song (well, Chance gets a great verse in, too!). It's a great song with a Motown vibe. Big bonus: these guys have got some moves! 😛🕺 Another MUST is their Sea Shanty medley! Sea shanties are basically work songs, used to keep a good rhythm when many men are working together (like swabbing the deck, raising/lowering sails, rowing, etc) or sung to pass time on long voyages. Usually centered around women, drinking, or the sea. Go figure. 😉 They combined some popular shanties into a medley. You'll get a kick out of their outfits! LOL They all represent sailors from different eras and areas. Chance is a modern seaman/fisherman, Adam looks like some kind of Disney sea captain, Rob is more like a Northeastern seaman, Austin looks like a pirate first mate (his music theater shines through!), and Tim is Capt. Jack Sparrow! Haha Rob gets a couple leads!! Awesome, rich sound on the second one!! You'll notice Tim doesn't move around much - it's because he's standing in a small rowboat and trying not to rock the boat over! 😂🛶 Listen carefully in the last shanty called "Santiana" for Adam's latest trick - freaking castanets! How he does it, I have no idea...but color me impressed! 🤩 His tom tom drums in one of the first couple shanties is rather amazing, too! This was one of their quarantine vids (they have quite a few of them) where they were all doing their part from home and sending it to Darren in the studio to edit everything together. Unbelievable!! Another great quarantine video is "Meet in the Middle" - highly recommend that one. Also, I know you prefer Rob's voice, but you'll kick yourself if you don't watch Austin's "When a Man Loves a Woman"!! Gives Percy Sledge a run for the money and completely blows Michael Bolton's version out of the water! It'll leave you with your jaw on the floor. For more of Rob's greatness and the most beautiful harmonies ever, listen to "How Great Thou Art". It was filmed in the Austrian Alps. Both the scenery AND the voices are breathtaking! Oh, and you actually get to hear Adam sing because there's no beatboxing in the song! He's got a beautiful high tenor voice. Any time you hear high, angelic-sounding "oohs" that's him. 😘 Had to edit to add "Mayday"!!! Not only does Rob have a beautiful lead, but this particular video tends to blow reactor's minds. Haha Tim sings a pretty high tenor part to start off and sings tenor harmonies with Rob for the rest of the song (higher than Rob!). Chance carries the entire bass line throughout the song and has a particular WOW part. 😉 Adam outdoes himself with the beat throughout and an impressive drum fill near the end. Beautiful harmonies round out the whole shebang. There are SO many others I could recommend, but I've already written a dang book. LOL Basically just pick anything they've done (out of like 200 now) and you can't go wrong. 👍

it's like physical attraction...no one knows what causes you to be attracted to someone....I like Chance the most. I appreciate his voice more than anyone else, and I kinda like his shy, and introverted attititude. He is from southern part of Alabama (not far from Mobile) and I have a lot of cousins that act just like him in southern Georgia....so he's "comfortable" if that makes any sense. And I think he gets overlooked by most fans of the group....so he's kinda the "underdog"....nbut he has some awesome covers....Can't outrun you, Yours, Some Girls Do, Born in the USA, and my favorite, Cover Me Up...which is a must to watch even after the music...it's very special. I also respect his talent on the other side of the camera....he scripted the entire 2020 Holiday Special, & directed it as well...he also scripted & directed all his lead videos except for Some Girls Do...he's also suggested a lot of songs to the guys....I especially enjoy "Moonshine"...done during quarantine too

Another great tenor is Vince Gill . As far as team" beard" you may have to add Austin to that list. He's growing a pretty great one, just a different color. I think there's a "chemical" attraction of sorts when it comes to why we like certain people's voices. Go, Team Beard! And congratulations on the baby. You pose an interesting question about why we are attracted to specific voices or voice types. I'm a "lady of a certain age" and I prefer male voices and absolutely cannot listen to sopranos. As far as I can tell, I've always been that way. Maybe it has something to do with how our "sound nerves" are set at birth. They say babies in the womb can hear music, so maybe it goes back even further. In any case, I can't listen to Home Free's latest video because their female guest artist just sets my teeth on edge. Not her fault, just how my brain works, I guess. Fortunately, there are lots of other videos to enjoy.

I'm not sure if Adam (the beatboxer) has ever had a beard, he had long hair at one point, you can see it in older videos, but I have never seen him with a beard, all of the other have some scruff, Rob has the most beard, but I know Chance could grow a nice thick beard if he let it go. I'm sure wives & girlfriends probably have some input into their beard length etc.
