What I love is how all the guys can cover multitudes of parts... Tim can sing tenor, Chance can sing bass, Austin can go high, Rob can go high, even Adam can sing a higher tenor....they all can beatbox, they all have swagger....just so much versatility. Thats what makes them who they are...

In this one, Adam adds the sound of a shotgun loading. And did you notice the "evil leer" Tim gives at the end of his second turn? I loved it. Chance is a baritone/bass and, with a 4-octave range, can go from tenor to bass. As a matter of fact, all of the members of Home Free can sing beautifully in the tenor range.

I’m enjoying your reactions. I’m going to repeat some suggestions…”End of the Road” for Rob at his soulful best…”I Can’t Outrun You “, for a beautiful, haunting Chance lead (5 part harmony, no percussion). For fun..”Butts Medley “, “Champagne Taste(on a beer budget)… Tim lead, and he wrote it…”Workin’ For a Livin’”, their take on the Huey Lewis and the News song. Since we’re getting close to Christmas, “Do You Hear What I Hear”, an Adam Rupp arrangement and unbelievably great,”O, Holy Night”, and a video I just found about 2 months ago. It’s a must for Rob in full gospel mode..they’re at the Hosanna concert in 2013 singing the carol “Joy to the World “. The arrangement is stellar…there is also a beatbox breakdown. I hear some ‘70’s R&B, and even some Cab Calloway jazz. Rob’s lead makes me love him even more.

The guys did a great job of this Johnny Cash cover. Made it into a jazzy blues style. And they all look like some sort of criminals especially Tim & Adam. Remember this was done during quarantine so none of them were physically together. They were very creative during that time. Love the background train noises. Adam's beatboxing is crazy good & so is Tim's low notes.

I thought Austin's tones were sometimes reminiscent of that distant train whistle; also, I believe this was recorded during quarantine, so they recorded their parts in separate locations. The height thing was a joke. What's great about their current lineup is how versatile it makes them. Having two people who can sing bass and two who can sing tenor really frees them up to do all kinds of things.

Rob is the tallest of the 5 but he's not quite 6'8". They were having some fun with the height charts. They're all between 6'1 and 6'4". Don't know if anyone mentioned it, but this is one of their quarantine videos. Each one recorded their audio & video parts in their homes & the producers put it all together. Chance is usually considered a baritone, but he was the bass in his previous group (Street Corner Symphony). He can take over the bass when Tim is singing lead. If you want to hear Chance go low, check out "Mayday" or "Some Girls Do".

The song you were trying to think of is "Man of Constant Sorrow". I've heard that Tim calls Chance a "secret weapon". I disagree, I think they are all secret weapons. Rob's and Austin both can hit the high notes, Austin is the high tenor for this group and Rob is the lower tenor. Austin can go higher and riff more smoothly than Rob in the highest of high notes and do it clearly. but Rob's lower tenor notes and riffs flow more smoothly so they are versatile in that way as to the parts needed within the song. Chance is a baritone/ bass and has a nice range to his voice and Tim has a 5-octave range and can go high or super low as needed.

Hahaha. This again was during Covid so the boys filmed at home. Don’t believe the height charts - they’re all wrong but the boys are tall, 6’1’” to 6’4”. Yeah I loved all of them on this one. Tim and Adam especially but Rob had the bluesy part down, Austin was doing some train noises and Chance was doing his smooth baritone/bass part. I love this song. Austin and Adam has the highest tenor range, with Rob as runner up, and Tim right on their heels. Tim has the lowest bass. Chance is second, and Adam has a bada** throatbass. I really don't think that there are any competition among them, thou they work hard, to individually expand their personal capasaty. F.ex. Tim works on his higher register, Austin on his lower. Rob an Chance work on both ends, and Adam keeps expanding his sound portfolio, and luckelly, his portfolio doesn't take up mutch space, when they are on tour, and he will never forget to pack a crusiel instrument 😉
