I just bought a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL 3.0 V6, with 170k miles, that is in great condition, inside and out. I paid $3800 for it. It seems to be a very solid vehicle even with the high mileage. Literally everything still works on it. The only thing I could find wrong was a weird rubble noise during acceleration from take off, that goes away after I get going a little.

Do you know my Honda Accord makes that same little grumble sound from a dead start. I’m starting to think it’s the water pump. But I’m not 100% sure

That 3.0 Duratec is a sweet little engine. Strong with pleanty of pull, refinement, and also not really that bad on fuel. Also reliable. This car was a good pick man. I have a huge soft spot for 10-12 Fusion, Milan, and Mkz

Car is a lil beast. Such an awesome platform

I think the earlier 3.0L Duratecs were a little weak in overall performance and refinement, although they were always reliable. Once Ford updated them with VVT (and also Borg-Warner VCT in the 2010-2012 models as shown in this video) they became smoother, quieter, more refined and with a nice boost in horsepower and torque. The 240hp version shown here was the best and last evolution of the 3.0L Duratec V6 when they were gradually phased out by the 3.5L Cyclone V6.

That 4th to 6th gear skip on that second WOT pull reminds me of my 2016 Ford F-250 work truck Very smart, even though it’s weird to me lol

I used to have a 2011 Mercury Milan in silver grey. My car had a little bit over 83,000 miles on it before I totaled it before hit a buck. It was a nice car to drive. When I got it and it had a little over 11,000 miles on it. To me it was a little bigger than Ford Focus. I was looking at Ford Fusions but, at that time all of them had over 35,000 miles on. The Milan was low in miles and it was dropped in 2012. Right now I drive 2015 Ford Escape.

The 3.5 L V6 engine from Ford is unreliable due to a mechanical problem with the water pump.

The 3.0 was better its that stupid design on the 3.5.

I had a question, how do you feel about the Ford Fusion 2012 SE with 160k miles, do you think it’ll hold up @joes
@JoesGoldenGarage4 жыл бұрын
The best American car in my opinion we have a 2012 V6 with around 100,000 miles we would sell for probably around 5600 bucks
