Those floors ARE gorgeous; I note that the most intricate (and expensive) is right in the entry hall where Mr. & Mrs. Martin's guests were sure to see it the minute they walked in the door. The art tiles on the fireplace are so fantastic, with the figures and scenes. Can't get enough of them! I also love seeing a cream-colored (not white) kitchen with black countertops, as that's what I hope mine will become someday after the worn out 93-year old yellow tile goes, lol. I think the interior is great, and would only change a few paint colors or chance some wall paper in one or two rooms. The exterior, however, just doesn't feel right to me. My gut reaction was that the brick porch was too heavy, and the rough stucco seems to weigh down the building, so I was interested to hear that was due to a 1920s remodel intended to give a Craftsman look. I guess I'll have to take that up with Judge Fulk, lol. Still, a great house, and I appreciate that you do these tours when I know you are both crazy busy, so we can enjoy seeing a variety of period homes and all stay connected. It was a nice way to start my day, here in San Diego where it's 105 today. I hope your move into the charming retro cottage has gone smoothly. Cheers, guys!

Beautiful house indeed. The floors sre amazing, but that is not "inlay". That is the art of Parquetry at it's very best. Inlay is when the contrast substance is filling a partial thickness depression, usually csrved out. Parquetry and Marquetry are full depth pieces of wood. Parquetry is geometric designs. Marquetry is using different woods and grains to form a picture.

It’s so pretty but I was a bit saddened to hear what they covered/ removed/ changed in the 1920s. Putting in a concrete porch instead of wood boards? Putting a heavy stucco coat over OG smooth plaster? Placing a boxy closed structure to renovate an open porch? Don’t like what they did😢

I wish you would include the price of the homes you show. I understand the realtor would like nothing better than to engage with someone “interested”. I wouldn’t be a serious buyer if I know immediately that it’s out of my price range, and I wouldn’t be amenable to that realtor “going on the hunt” for me unless I specifically contacted the realtor to do so.
@OurRestorationNation3 ай бұрын
That would put us in the position of participating in the actual sale of the property, which would be illegal. We use these videos to educate about architecture and history, and we are able to access them because they happen to be for sale. When possible (every video other than this one, because this one doesn’t have one yet) we include the Zillow link in the description, so you don’t have to bother the realtor until you know you are actually interested.
@Mario-f1u9q3 ай бұрын
And you never mention address...not under realtors current listings and dont see it under any little rock Zillow listings....😢
