@@OverlordMalarkey I'd say I'm just a bit versed in LOTR, but like you really enjoyed Mordor. Couldn't get into war, though; looked like it focused too much on grinding and microtransactions. Pretty big turn-off for me personally

My recommendation, if you find something interesting in the Warhammer fandom - Find a game or faction you like the vibe/aesthetic of. If the lore of that group you vibe with draws you in naturally, you might be the kind of person who's a warhammer fan. if not? Enjoy the games, enjoy the memes, and dont let anyone be a gatekeeping asshole because "You dont know the lore".

11:45 There is so much lore. That's really the joke "If Warhammer 40K happend to any other sci-fi universe, that universe wouldn't exist anymore." Imagine the Death Star and what it could do. In Warhammer 40K, that would be merciful. In the Warhammer 40K universe you normally bombard the entire planet with a monster virus that turns the entire planet into toxic goop and then you launch a torpedo that literally ignites the whole planet. In Warhammer 40K, destroying a planet is Tuesday.

The franchise is like 35 years old and started as a sort-of War Game in-joke of "What would happen if Orcs went to space" before becoming so increasingly grimdark it unironically created the term "Grimdark" (from the tagline "In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war!") There is so much lore. But we are also a welcoming and mostly wholesome cult...I mean... community.

He’s wrong about calibr. The .75 is most common for Astartes boltguns but .998 was replacing it during the Great Crusade. Naturally, Horus horded most for his own forces and that basically killed that attempt.

I recently got into warmammer I play death korps or kreig there isn't as much lore as the space marines but I found a team that I like lore of. On the other hand I have death guard as my second team the more I read about nurgle the more I love death guard. You will find a team you identify with

Yes, you can definitely play this VERY fun and satisfying game without knowing the lore. But if you ARE interested in knowing more about the lore in easily digestible chunks, watch Bricky's videos, or Adeptus Ridiculous (which is also Bricky, but with friends). There's also Warhammer 40k lore in less than a minute by TotalBiscuit (Emperor preserve his soul).

there is actually not that much lore, just compare the 40k fandom page to the Star Trek one. for those of you too lazy to do that, the Star Trek fandom site has almost 60k pages, the Warhammer one doesnt even have 10k. the reason why people think the lore is a lot is cuz it isnt consolidated and it constantly contradicts itself. for example, there are actually two different wiki sites and they dont have the same pages

I do love this game but the story is like *Game of Thrones and *Legends and *C.H.U.D. and *Alien & *Aliens and "*All of World War one History*" meets the Dark Ages and the Vatican City and The industrial age of the 19th century sprinkled with religions and robot's and space elves and space technology that can get to one sector in a hurry but usually run multiple jumps to get to a destination peacefully-ish?!!? So there is also a criminal element to this as well as religious dark God's of Chaos. But yeah this is super deep in lore and as a fellow thespian; I can certainly tell you this is one to watch out for in any possible production! But yeah this makes GoT and Star Wars and Star Trek all put together look like a midget in a porno whose always coming up short and this all came from a table top mini's game still cannot make up for this table top game story lore is outrageous! I got started in 95 when Warhammer40k was originally called White Dwarf magazine and game rule book and it was basically taking fresh new scifi gothic story writers and most were already into the game so this was a art's and crafts as well because in the beginning the game magazine gave out cardboard cut out buildings and terrain and then it got even crazier, so the army's are ment to be glued and painted with the company's own paint supply, so this game can get super expensive and the game is now on a point system for determining the size of the battle size. So think small kitchen table in one bd apt, then imagine playing on a King Author's huge round table. That was the basic game but there is someone's channel that can explain everything to put you should definitely do a reaction to my homie's channel but let me know if you would like to know more about this and I'll hook you with his channel. I think you should definitely have look at my friends Warhammer40k complete lore; but do it in chapters that way you don't get burned out by the Grand Canyon of sci-fi story/lore!!!
